The Three Tuns, York

Nice little (Or not so little boozer) as it is quite a long pub this one I stopped by here for a few pints after a big walk. A bit dark and dingy but thats how proper old style pubs should be. Worth a visit.

The Marlborough Head, Marble Arch

Good proper decent size boozer, if you ever happen to be stuck in Oxford street and you need some respite this is a good place to seek sanctuary away from all the hustle and bustle. Looks good after the refurb. Be warned though if your sitting in the bar at the back of the pub up the stairs they do table service so it maybe difficult to move on from this pub.

Nell of Old Drury, Covent Garden

This is a nice wee pleasant unpretentious boozer right in the heart of theatre area. I like pubs like this non nonsense you know what your getting. Good selection of beer and also if you want you can bring your own sandwiches as they dont sell food. We need more West end boozers like this.

16 Mar 2009 15:12

Red Lion, Langley

This is my local but I dont get down here as much as I like. New landlord is alot friendlier than the last bloke. Good selection of ales and not bad pub grub. Nice little snug bit in the corner with a fire. Overall a very decent little pub. The Chav element is nearly all gone thank god.

The Theodore Bullfrog, Charing Cross

Could be such a good secret boozer but it lets itself down quite badly. Was in here at the weekend this was my first venture to this pub for several years. I had a pint was ok nothing special and my wife had a cup of coffee I had to return her cup as it wasnt very clean, the barman who couldnt speak english shot me a look as filthy as the coffee cup. Very disappointed as this as huge potential. Dont think I will bother going back. The whole pub could do with a clean.

The Captains Cabin, Piccadilly

I like this pub dont go that often but when I do I always have a pleasant pint or 2. This pub is tucked away but still gets busy. Mind you it was a saturday night I was in here, I had popped in for a well earned pint after an afternoon of shopping with my dear wife. Good mixed crowd. Will be back for more pints another day.

The White Horse, Hedgerley

Popped in here a few weeks ago after a nice walk round the countryside with my wife. Sat in the large beer garden, cracking little pub this. I had some food and it was decent pub grub. Well worth a visit.

The Herschel Arms, Slough

This is a great pub in the centre of Slough popped in on saturday to get out of the rain. Friendly enough pub wasnt to packed. Lots of nicknacks on the walls and for some reason lots of German writing on the wall. I was in on my own for 1 pint but will pop back in bfor a few soon.

12 Aug 2008 14:41

The Prince of Teck, Earls Court

Was in here last friday with my mate thought this was a decent boozer. Everyone seemed to be steamin which I thought was pretty cool because I was steamboats myself by this point. Will try and pop in sometime. Friendly pub to sit and people watch.

12 Aug 2008 14:33

The Oriental Bar, Glasgow

I popped in here one rainy wednesday afternoon a few weeks back. This is a local's pub but not threatening and also does an ok pint of lager. Feels a million miles away from the busy Argyle street just a minutes walk away. If your looking to see a real Glasgow pub with real characters you could do alot worse than this pub.

21 Jul 2008 12:04

The Balloch House, Alexandria

Me and my wife spent a few days in Balloch so we decided to go for dinner in this pub/restaurant. Beer was nice and chilled, big sized establishment. Food was nothing special. Toiletsare upstairs which confuses people. I would recommend popping in for a pint but would give the food a miss.

The Lord Moon Of The Mall, Whitehall

Yes its a whetherspoons and I shouldnt expect to much form the food. But when you order a burger and chips as me and my mate Karen did last week. You expect to receive this. Not a few Supermarket own brand bland nachos as a subsitute for the chips. I asked the barmaid why we couldnt have chips and they said its because its a listed building! Most whetherspoons are located in old listed buildings and they all do chips. I dont think I will be back. Beer is ok quite cheap but I dont think I will be back.

14 Apr 2008 16:03

The Clarence, Whitehall

OK nothing special wee pub its not to busy for the are but, if I was in the area I would maybe pop in again but there are so many nice ale houses in this area with a far better atmosphere.

14 Apr 2008 15:58

The King and Castle, Windsor

I agree with the other reviews this is by far the best Whetherspoons I have been in aswell. Lots of room inside, great outdoor seating, a vast selection of ales and also a great view of the castle. Reasonable prices aswell. Everytime I am in Windsor I pop in here for a pint or 2.

4 Mar 2008 09:54

Coachmakers Arms, Slough

Decent enough pub popped in last week for a quiet pint. I would go back its ok in here nothing special but its not a bad place.

21 Feb 2008 15:18

The Windmill, Moorgate

OK pub its not to far for me to venture to after work or at lunchtime. It has indeed had a refit but its still not to poncey. Good selection of lagers aswell. Can get busy at lunchtime but overall its a not bad wee pub.

The New Inn, Basingstoke

14 Dec 2007 16:10

The Garden, Islington

I stopped in here on saturday morning/lunch time. Friendly staff ok selection of drinks. Food is typical pub grub. I was impressed with this pub until I went to the toilet. They are a disgrace no soap, smelly urinals, big holes in the wall and it looks like the ceiling is about to cave in. Sort your bogs out please as its spoiling a good pub.

10 Dec 2007 09:47

Windsor Castle, Marylebone

Cracking little gem of a pub this one.
Had a drink in here after Scotland got beat by Italy on saturday. Full of trinkets and memorabilia, freindly staff and customers. Well worth a visit.

30 Oct 2007 14:16

The Fleur De Lys, Dorchester on Thames

Me and my dear wife to be, popped into this pub last friday. We had just had a lovely walk around the Clumps. From outside this pub is nice but please dont bother having any food they charge you 6.50 for 3 wee sausages and 12 chips in a silly little plastic container.Chips werent even that nice. Bloody rip off. We wont be going back and we have also advised our friends not to visit. We were going to complain but I thought whats the point they will just make up a story as to the location, overheads etc. Dorchester is well worth a visit. Just a shame this pub isnt.

28 Aug 2007 10:17

17 May 2007 12:48

The Cockpit, Blackfriars

8 May 2007 13:38

16 Oct 2006 08:48

Huntsman and Hounds, Upminster

OK big pub, The service could be better though. Its got the potential to be a right good boozer. Food is ok when it arrives but they took ages to clear away the plates. I have stood at the bar and there hasnt always been staff there to serve and this was when it was quiet.

23 Aug 2006 17:06

The Elm Tree, Beech Hill

Nice pub, I didnt have any food as the prices were a bit dear. Nice beer garden to sit and enjoy the nice weather. Apparently they have paintings of fish tanks in the ladies toilets but its just plain bog standard in the gents. Overall a quiet little allright pub.
