Another of yorks great pubs, good choice of ale, full of old character and charm, well kept pub and well worth a visit, just be careful of the low ceiling!.

Nice little (Or not so little boozer) as it is quite a long pub this one I stopped by here for a few pints after a big walk. A bit dark and dingy but thats how proper old style pubs should be. Worth a visit.

Looks a small pub but it stretches back quite a way. Bit dark and gloomy on the inside but a relaxed atmosphere.
Four real ales, Jennings Bitter, Jennings Cumberland, Banks Original and one called Wild Thing which I tried and didnt think it was very wild more like Bland Thing.
Lots of Toby Jugs above the bar and the tables were dark.
The barman had a blue mohican but carried out his duties very well, a credit to his proffession. Dont judge by appearances.
Im usually Len Goodman but today Im Craig Revel Horwood. 5.

Very much a place to be seen circa 1986 - 1992 but now a run of the mill ale house in the touristy part of York. An unremarkable experience with plenty of competition in the area makes it one I tend not to bother with.

A beamey, dark dingey but clean pub. Lots of hide-away snug corners. Used to be a good city centre drinkers pub but is now more food orientated and the beer was a bit disappointing. Will always pop back to this pub though for old times sake!
