Not that bad. Deuchers and Hobgoblin on the pumps. Had the Deuchers. It was fine. Only had one and moved on.

A terrible pub. Rude staff, slow service, enough said.

A pub we've often used to go to for after work drinks. Recently we reserved for a large leaving party. After being overcharged for several burgers I was told that the specials were not that price after 5pm but the manager could not show me where this was stated on the "All Day Menu" I had ordered from. After I protested he said he could not afford to serve at those prices and refused to give me a receipt, then to the dismay of the packed bar became aggressive and threatened to through me out. As I didn't want to ruin the good atmosphere of the event I let it pass. Needless to say we won't be organising our leaving drinks there again. so if you do have bad service there you won't get any sympathy from the manager. you'll just have to blame yourself for going in there in the first place.

I'm quite surprised at some of the comments here. Maybe it has had a change of management over the year. Called in a couple of times this week. 3/4 real ales. Each was fine.
Looked a bit like a better JDW

I go to this pub quite a lot, but not out of choice as a coupe of friends who live nearby are too lazy to go anywhere else that is half decent so sometimes I have to swallow my pride and make an appearance! Although the decor has been updated over the past year or so and does look a lot more inviting, I'm not a fan of this pub at all, the service is sooooo sloooow it's painful sometimes! I was here last night and they had two, yes two bar staff working at one of the most busy periods ever!! What were they thinking?? We ordered some food which we waited 30/45 mins for and it all came out cold. The waitress give her her due was very apologetic and quickly offered us free drinks and a couple of free portions of chips which we gladly accepted. There was no one collecting glasses so there was empties everywhere and it made the place look a mess. Funnily enough, this pub is owned by the same folk who run the Calf which I've also posted a review on - yep, that's not great either!
