The Fleur has just re-opened and is excellent. I had a brilliant pint of Tribute there. Dirty old carpet in bar area has gone and replaced by stone floor and general tidy up. A great improvement. Good staff too.

I stopped here for Sunday lunch last weekend. We were a bit late ordering, but the chef agreed that he could rustle up a couple of meals for us, and to keep it simple we both plumped for the roast pork. Everything was pretty good, and plenty of it. It does seem to be primarily a locals venue, but I like that, unpretentious. A couple of ales on tap, well kept it would seem. Dogs in the bar area, something I always appreciate seeing in rural areas. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere. A real fire was lit in the afternoon, and as we let our lunch digest I was most reluctant to leave, But that could have been the particularly beautiful company I was in!!

I stayed in Dorchester for 3 nights and i was welcomed into this pub like a local, the Brakspear Best was in good condition and the food looked very nice, the chap behind the bar was really chatty and on the Sunday night we were still in here until 12.40am! he even brought out some freshly cooked prawn crackers for us, top man! I thought this pub was very good, much better than some in teh area and Dorchester is a lovely place to stop.

Dont go there if you are a tourist, dinner times are fully booked by the locals, and as for the food served there, you cant order a hot meal to take outside only sandwiches, but hot food you can order to eat inside, but its fully booked inside, But as usual when you do accept after ordering the drinks, you go outside in the beer garden/car park you see others with hot food???? strange! so whats the difference to order hot foot to have outside rather than inside. And then after waiting for half an hour, they then inform you, we are sorry but we have just found out we have run out of avocado. As for the salad and chips, they must have sent someone out to the local macdonalds, they were the same. Definately not going there again. And I live local. Very Poor and then wonder why pubs are shutting.????

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend a few days in the beautiful village of Dorchester on Thames. We stayed at the Fleur de lys and were really pleasantly suprised. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we felt extremely welcomed by the owners, who are slowly making changes to the decor and overall ambience of the pub. The food was excellent, my husband commented on the breakfast being the best full english that he had tasted! What a wonderful break we had. We will definately return.
