The Castle and Falcon, Newark

Good beer last night as ever. Relaxed atmosphere, warm and welcoming

The Lowther Hotel, York

Why did we come here, my friends and I asked ourselves. Generally dirty with a stale beer odour, food was unsurprisingly awful and staff although reasonably pleasant seemed to have no idea of their job description. Best to be avoided

The Blue Bell, York

Enjoyed a beer here last friday night, great character to this place and friendly barman witha sense of humour to add.

The Skinners Arms, Kings Cross

Always a good pint and friendly relaxed service, good place to enjoy a beer prior to a Eurostar trip. Decent curry house next door as well!

The Square Tavern, Euston

On a nice day, I like sitting outside in the "courtyard" however this week when i visited the weather was dreary so I sat inside and probably understood for the first time the shortcomings of the square tavern. Beer was ok, but nothing special, ambiance and decour nothing to write home about and staff not particularly welcoming. All in all pretty average pub and with so many better alternatives in close proximity probably not worth the effort

The Volunteer, Baker Street

Have visited this pub several times and have had a party there as well. Always enjoy the good beer and lively atmosphere, nice place to go after a day at Lords.....

Ye Olde Starre Inn, York

Did not enjoy my visit to this historic pub. Found the beer mediocre and the staff were incredibly rude, bordering on vicious at closing time, which was totally unnecessary.

The Golden Ball, York

Visited this pub after reading previous reviews and not let down at all. 6 immaculate cask ales, nice beer garden and friendly welcome to us quite obvious tourists...

The Defector's Weld, Shepherds Bush

Nice place, when you can get a seat, although the beer can be a bit hit and miss, the food nice but probably overpriced

one of the best kept secrets in manchester, this is a cool bar with a brilliant jukebox. I would reccomend the cajun chicken pizza and the salads are good too. In the evening its busy and full of people having a good time!
