Queens Head is just down the road from us, we first went there a couple of years ago-not impressed,went again just brfore Christmas
and loved it excellent beer,first rate food- not cheap but you get wht you pay for.

Stayed here for acouple of nights for wife's birthday.
Loved It!! rooms are great,breakfast FANTASTIC!!!, bar is very good.Would recomend it to anyone.

Could not agree with Gerremin more,called in a month or two ago for breakfast usally a treat,But it was a "buffet" type arrangement-looked as though it had stewing under the hot lamps for about a week,so smart about turn and exit never to return

My mistake,NOT the pinney clan but the same outfit as the Crown and Castle just down the road--Go There!!

Went there last week and,yes it has changed hands again,but this time to the Pinney fanily (same as the Butley and Orford Oysterage)and is Knockout,the food,beer and welcome is great --worth a trip

visited again August 2006-OH DEAR!! the beer is as good as ever,but the food was discusting it seemed that it had been in the warm(just!!)drawer for some time-it was only 12:30 for heavens sake!! the table was sticky and we asked for it to be cleaned which it was with very poor grace.There seemed to be loads of staff hanging around the bar area and doing nothing-service was VERY POOR

What a cracking pub-warm comfortable nice beer/superb food/nice staff
A riverside patio should be finished soon I will be back

Ok room for improvment -the beer is good-it is vital that pubs like this survive-give it a try

very hard to clasify this one-it's not a pub or a cafe or a bistro but it is all three rolled in to one and it excells at all of of them

I used to visit this pub with my father years ago and it was excellent,visiting it again this year I was prepared for a nasty shoch BUT it was just like pulling on an old and very confortable pair of shoes-it was as if I had never left-first class beer,food and service(in no particular order)Try the sunday lunch!!

The Postgate Inn, Egton Bridge
A favorite when in the area I agree totally about prices but the quality is very high so good VFM beer is exellent and includes Camerons Strong arm which seems to be getting a little rare which is a shame.

This pub is a MUST for me every time I visit the area which I do several times a year for the last 30 years and it get better each time,great food,very good beer,great service,warm in the winter cool in summer what more could you ask!I havn't managed to be in when it is cut off by the snow(wouldn't that be just awful!) but I live in hope

This place is an absoulte gem perfect beer straight from the barrel-no pumps or any sissy stuff like that,superb simple food,first class landlord.
