What a difference a few years makes! First visit was fine, no complaints at all.
Second visit: It appears that the Queens Head has gone up market reflected in the menu prices. Didn't feel welcome, possibly because we didn't turn up in a Range Rover or similar vehicle. (There was quite a few of those outside). Friendly village local? I don't think so.

Visited this pub today with family who live locally. Both my Husband and I had the steak and mushroom pie. We asked if we could have roast potatoes instead of new and after consulting with the Chef was told 'just this once'. When the large meal came the puff pastry top on mine was burnt. 'The steak' must have come from the oldest toughest cow ever. Mine had a huge piece of gristle in it which I had to spit into my napkin. It was awful. The green beans it was served with weren't so much al dente but undercooked. The middleaged waitress really didn't want to be there and had no idea how to serve and talk to customers. This could be an amazing place but boy do they need to get their act together.

Came across this pub whilst holidaying in Suffolk, Lots of choices on the menu, but as the four of us had been at the seaside for most of the day, we all had a craving for Fish and Chips.
When it came there were gasps as the fish was huge, beautifully presented with a large bowl of fresh salad, home made tartar sauce, home cut chips and peas.
It all tasted as good as it looked, nobody left a crumb and all agreed they had never had fish and chips as good as these.
Highly reccomened.

This is a local really, have been coming here on and off for 40 years. My brother lives in Wenhaston. I've got on with all the landlords, but it's true to say the latest really has got the food sorted out. I've been once recently, and just booking to go again.

Talking with the landlady, they were pursuaded by Adnams to come to this pub, showing the brewery thinks to invest in this place. They have strong ideas about growing and rearing their own food, which is right up my street.
