The Hassocks Hotel, Hassocks

went in here for lunch with the reletives who live in the village before going on to brighton, all I can say is I had bad heart burn and felt very rough for the remainder of the day.i paid £7.95 for a burger that was so thin and tasteless I thought mum had gone to Iceland.we also ordered home made pizzas which were bland to the point that the burger was starting to look like a 10oz steak.very disappointing because I feel in the right hands this could be a cracking pub.

The White Hart, Eltham

well what can I say that I haven't already said about this pub ,I went in today with 5 of my family members for lunch being as we were the only customers it didn't bode well.We ordered our drinks and read the menus I was shocked that a pub that is empty can charge £8.95 for a burger ,it was then I noticed that my pint of doombar was as cloudy as yesterdays dish water,i took it back to the bar and asked for it to be changed I then heard the famous whats wrong with it ,I replied it is cloudy and tastes sour ,the reply was there is nothing wrong with it but I will change it ,my replacement pint was then slammed on the bar with a grunt.needless to say we didn't order any food and we didn't finish our drinks.how this pub survives is beyond me .this will be my last post on this pub as I will never go back

The Catford Bridge Tavern, Catford

The Viaduct Tavern, St Pauls

i knew this pub back in the day when it was a nicolsons and a much better pub it was. the manager at the time used to take tourists down to the "cells" just for a laugh ,but then said they were old coal cellars and not cells ,the cells theory was created for the tourists, true or not?a good marketing ploy .run of the mill fullers pub beer ok but on the exspensive side .

The Fox and Hounds, Walton On The Hill

The Duke of Hamilton, Hampstead

oh dear another pub that declares itself the last remaining "pub" left in the area ,is this a new advertising ploy?read the advert in the london drinker ,so i thought lets go and see ,well what can i say the beer on the night that i visited was very poor and the person who i assumed was the manager spent all his time smoking and drinking what a great advert . best avoid!

Postal Order, Crystal Palace

dear oh dear another spoons full of old piss stained ,foul mouthed geezers ,food is well below par as is the ales,a new manager in charge so i been told ,useless when will they start to get some decent managers in theese places instead of this young hotshots who are scared of their own shadows.well avoided mind you just like most of the other spoons around the place.

Hoopers Bar, Camberwell

popped in hear after hearing good things on the grapevine ,i have to say very dissapointed the beer in not in very good condition.I heard from some locals that the pub is looking for a new manager well lets hope they find one soon otherwise according to the london drinker the pub will be closed. If the owners read this contact me because i know a very good landlord who i am sure could help get this pub back to its former glory.

The Elgin, Ladbroke Grove

used to be a great pub on the weekends with an great mix of locals and tourists, but sadly that all changed when it was taken over and turned into a gastro pub.the last comment about how great the locals are is a bit much considering no one from the local area drinks in the pub,ask around and you will see that the local people do not drink here.its claen and tidy ,on the pricey side, and the food isnt what it should be.overall ther are far better pubs in the area.

The Florence Tavern, Islington

went here on friday night ,what can i say full of geezers all with very bad "colds" there must be a bug goind around islingtons pubs .new managers same attitude as every other pub in the area, take the money and dont care about the nice customers.saw a sign here once that said it was the only pub left in islington you are having a giraffe.

The Windmill, Croydon

why oh why are they serving aunt bessies and frozen veg with their "traditional sunday roast" what ever happened to the home cooked food?sadly the management changed and also sadly the new managers have kept the same awful, rude and unprofessional staff.A pub to avoid now unless you live in the local ymca.

The Claret Free House, Addiscombe

The White Hart, Eltham

i thought i would leave it a while to try this pub again on the off chance it might have improved . Well what can i say ? TERRIBLE springs to mind i was not impressed by the management team and after reading the previous comments i have also seen the "manager" behind the food counter slicing meat and eating it ,is there no hygeine issues with this? i think that the council should do something about this, when the pub was getting a refurbishment i spoke to a chap who promised a high level of service aand standards where did he go? all in all a pub not worth going to until a decent manager takes control .who are the owners of this pub and are they taking note ,will they be here this time next year ,i very much doubt it ,a great shame it promised a lot before they opened but have delivered very little since it opened.SHAME on you the faceless owners of this pub.

well i have read the 1st comment on this pub 10/10 is this person on something? It must be true that they are the new managers of this establishment because i have been in there many times now and i belive it to be just another run of the mill carvery in the same ilk as all the tobys and crowns .Yes they are right just what eltham needs another crap pub.same beer as every where else just dearer, marvellous!
