Walkabout, Putney

This place is not as bad as the other revievers would have you believe, yeah, it's full of pissed aussies most of the time, but that's what to expect from a walksbout surely. Good for watching sport in, service is efficient.

The Boathouse, Putney

I like this one. Only been there twice, a Friday and a Saturday night. Great atmosphere, very very busy, full of beautiful people, sexy staff, low lighting, just nice.

Star and Garter, Putney

Trying to be a trendy bar on the cheap. Better atmosphere in the toilets at the Bricklayers. Unbelievably poor overall for what should be a great pub.

The Dukes Head, Putney

I have been meaning to visit for weeks and judging by the reviews I was expecting a real shocker. I went in with a couple of buddies last night and we loved it. First of all it was very busy, and full of ordinary, pleasent people. Youngs ordinary top quality at 2.75. Bar staff pretty, smiley, quick and efficient. The landlord Lee came over and introduced himself while wiping our table. The decor is a bit new and clean looking but they have retained the etched glass, mirrors and the wonderful round bar and partitions, and they have tidied up the back room with the fantastic river view. Didnt eat but soon will, menu looks good, overall a great pub, no denying it. Open till 1 at weekends with no doormen, handy to know! Sorry about this Bricklayers regulars, but I'm giving it a high 8 out of 10.

The Dukes Head, Putney

So the manager loves it (see below) and the manager of Bar M doesn't (See below). I shall reserve judgement until I visit. Catman.

Aragon House, Parsons Green

I like this place. You get what you would expect from an upmarket pub on Parsons Green. Yes there are pretentious people in here, but it's safe, comfortable, the service is good, excellent wine list, and the food is very reasonable too for the quality. Why not I say!

The Ship Inn, Wandsworth

That's just rubbish about the beer and the food, particularly the food, it's really as good if not better than you'll get in any pub in London. This is a lovely place and the staff are really friendly. Are you the same anonymous who posted that the pub had been knocked down a few weeks ago? I hate bad punctuation and grammar too it's the Gottos, not the gotto's. Also sorry to hear about your fall, hope you're ok. Catman

The Ship Inn, Wandsworth

It's still here, in the same place, in Wandsworth, and it's still brilliant. I have taken the opportunity to investigate the alleged pile of sand and mud under which the Ship has been interred this very evening. To my surprise I found the best pub I've been to in ages, totally full of lovely people enjoying food and drink served by rather fit and recently buffed barmaids. Methinks someone wants to keep it for themselves. I also took a picture of the pub on my phone (with date stamp). It's just been repainted. Please send me a message for pictorial proof!!!!

The Alma Tavern, Wandsworth Town

I really like this pub, as I have said before and I am really getting sick of upset brewery employees and hangers on of the Gottos complaining about the past. Anna and Dan are doing a sterling job here, and as for it now being a managed house, you would never know unless you really went out of your way to find out. The menu and food here are excellent. Check out thealma.co.uk and have a look at it and make up your own mind whether its a disaster or not. As for you Oxforddon, if you only ever slag off Youngs pubs on this site, why do you use them. Perhaps Wetherspoons might be more up your street. Catman.

The Eel Pie, Twickenham

Feels like a real country pub, tucked away in the back streets of Twickenham. Spent a very enjoyable Sunday evening here in company of the eccentric regulars. Staff pretty and friendly. Cask beer (Badger) excellent.

The Fire Station, Waterloo

One of my favourite places to go. Roomy, friendly and easy to get to from anywhere, a good place to meet up before a night out.
