Maybe I there was a different crowd of people in compared to what other reviewers had to deal with but I had a drink in here Friday evening before going to a nearby restaurant, and thought what a nice little local pub it was. I had a good chat to the landlord and a good pint of bitter; McMullens is a brewery I haven't come across before so even from that fact alone it was worth going to. It's not on my doorstep, but I'll be going again that's for sure. If I come across the antisocial types discussed I may change my mind but there aren't many pubs that don't have there share of undesireabls at some time or other. kevins1966 - 25 Oct 2010 12:53
Vile food. A bit depressing but in a nice place. steppedup - 24 Mar 2010 23:44

The comment below sums it up perfectly - what would be a very pleasant, backstreet local is marred by shouting, foul language and an atmosphere that can only be described as hostile bordering on the threatening. Shame, as the beer is drinkable and there is a decent, if somewhat shabby, outdoor drinking area. It might be better when the football season is over - but I'm distinctly reluctant to find out. meurglys_iv - 11 May 2009 15:40
Well... This pub is quite nice and they now do thai food which is great, as myself, my son and wife love thai food! The now unfortunate thing is that a group of men/locals i think now take up all the dining area and the pub is tiny anyway. I would not mind but i was not impressed with all the shouting and swearing (not exactly inviting) I will no longer be dining here for this reason. Shame! Let me know when you change back to a nice, quite and friendly dining pub and we may come back! con - 5 Jul 2008 16:02
