Well... This pub is quite nice and they now do thai food which is great, as myself, my son and wife love thai food! The now unfortunate thing is that a group of men/locals i think now take up all the dining area and the pub is tiny anyway. I would not mind but i was not impressed with all the shouting and swearing (not exactly inviting) I will no longer be dining here for this reason. Shame! Let me know when you change back to a nice, quite and friendly dining pub and we may come back! con - 5 Jul 2008 16:02
Although this pub is a little rough round the edges I still quite like it. As said before it’s a little off the main drag, so you probably wouldn’t happen to just stumble across it which is why it is more of a regular’s pub (who seem friendly enough). The offerings from the bar that I spotted were a couple of Mccullen’s ales, Worthington Cream Flow, Fosters, Kronenburg, Guinness and Strongbow. The barmaid was very friendly as was the gent watching Sky that let me get to the bar without me having to ask. There is also a patio garden to the side of the pub, but unfortunately while I was there someone up the road decided to tune their motorbike. This place is by no means the perfect pub, but it’s not bad. Strongers - 9 May 2008 12:27
I am a person that is pub shy, I not very comfortable with going into pubs but this one was great. The people in the pub very good, making everyone positive, friendly and excellent. The prices are great and the best thing is that you make "Freinds". This pub was so good that I am highly looking at having my wedding reception in here. You are always welcomed with a happy smiling face, making you feel wanted!. I now go there on a weekly basis with the same smiles and the best of all feeling welcomed. I am so comfortable with this pub that I look for reviews and found this site and added my view. So very happy coming here all the time with no hassles and a relaxation mood. I live in Whetstone and travel all the way to hear just for a drink with my other half and sometimes my mates. A highly recommended pub in east finchley, as the other person stated "A real Pub!" banmrk - 1 Apr 2008 14:53
I wasn't as impressed with this as previous posters. The pub's very much a local's pub in a back street in East Finchley, not the kind of place that would be discovered by chance. The interior is a basic one-room affair. This was my first encounter with the McMullen's brewery and they had a respectable five or six ales on handpump. I had a pint of Cask Ale and it was drinkable without being very exciting. Generally I'm afraid I found the pub a bit depressing. I'm not sure I'd go back. grecian - 25 Feb 2008 10:28
Generally very good beer quality and a pleasant alternative to the food-centred pubs nearer the Tube station. Will be interesting to see whether the current building works in the garden are followed by a makeover outside - a useful feature as it isn't on the High Road and it doesn't have the intermittent rattle of the Northern Line to disturb customers. meurglys_iv - 12 Dec 2007 22:02
