I could not agree more with the below comment. I would not drink in this pub if the drinks were on the house. As stated below the people in general in this pub will want your life story before they serve you a drink. If you are making money you are the worst person in the world. I feel for new customers as the staff and customers alike just stair and whisper what does he do? Havent seen him before? Were is he geting the money to buy all drink? Dont like the look of those two (usually a couple)? Hows he driving that car? all questions the regulars and staff ask each other about new customers. You sometimes see this pub getting very rough. Much nicer pubs to drink in east finchley give this a miss terriable service and some what hostile atmosphere especially towards new comers. The small ginger women with hair on her face stands out.

I have been to this pub before I was asked to leave by management myself and my partner. A small little ginger women in particular stands out who asked me to leave this was for no reason they waited to had spent a substantional amount of money before they asked me.
In this pub you will meet people who have an enjoyment and a motivation about talking about one and other.
The beer is not bad to be fair though I hear prices have increased recently. Should anyone enjoy talking bad about the person two seats down from them go there, that is providing you get a seat as the owners like to prop up the bar and size up the clientel . They have lost a long standing bar man, a man very well thought off in the Irish community to the Alexandra a much better pub located 100 yards down the road.
You will get asked more questions in Gertie Browns than chris tarrants who wants to be a millionare but if you have got a jelous streak like talking about people and most of all like putting people down then drink in Gerties no were better in that respect. You will never buy the local paper again if you drink in this one.

Cheapish. Irish. Friendly enough bar staff. Although some of punters you wouldn't exactly take home to mum.
