Excellent pub for football, chat and banter. Beer is really good, cheap, and bar staff are friendly. Not the sort of place you'd go on a night out, well maybe you'd step in for a couple, but it's ideal for every other occasion. john_thomas - 3 May 2010 16:16
excellent bar.staff extremely friendly and helpful. its just a shame that the previous comments are based on a more personal view than anything else. wonder if those individuals were barred from there?? beerlady08 - 12 Apr 2009 15:15
Wonderful pub for locals and visitors alike. reflects the charm of East Finchley - a thriving part of North London with all the benefits of friendly residents. JamesJoyce - 23 Mar 2009 16:54
I have been to this pub before I was asked to leave by management myself and my partner. A small little ginger women in particular stands out who asked me to leave this was for no reason they waited to had spent a substantional amount of money before they asked me. In this pub you will meet people who have an enjoyment and a motivation about talking about one and other. The beer is not bad to be fair though I hear prices have increased recently. Should anyone enjoy talking bad about the person two seats down from them go there, that is providing you get a seat as the owners like to prop up the bar and size up the clientel . They have lost a long standing bar man, a man very well thought off in the Irish community to the Alexandra a much better pub located 100 yards down the road. You will get asked more questions in Gertie Browns than chris tarrants who wants to be a millionare but if you have got a jelous streak like talking about people and most of all like putting people down then drink in Gerties no were better in that respect. You will never buy the local paper again if you drink in this one. daclon - 5 Nov 2008 19:46
