visited a few times recently, always busy, good atmosphere, good selection of beers, ciders, and wines. Food good. Staff on the ball, always looking for customers to be served. Reasonable prices.

This pub has recently started hosting a live jazz-blues band, who are excellent. They are on one Sunday of each month. The place has also had a small refurb with the covered area now fully enclosed and heated. It remains the best pub in Barnet by a considerable margin...

Visited on Sat the 3rd December with a friend. What a lovely pub with a great selection of ales at resonable prices. Nice atmopshere with a mix of people of all ages a nice fire too that looked like a real one. I live in the south of the Northern Line and I must say I'd go back in a shot, all that a pub should be. The staff were friendly and very efficient, I'm sure I shall return. Well done ! Highly recommended.

I should like this pub - it does a decent pint (though not too many unusual brews), the staff are pleasant and efficient, it has a slightly quirky layout but for some reason I never feel like staying for another pint. Can't quite fathom out why but something about the place just doesn't endear me to linger.

Re. the last reviewer, I am pleased to hear that you liked the Mitre.

Not too sure what you mean by “cold shoulder treatment from 11pm” though. We serve drinks until midnight during the week and 1am at weekends, the latest we legally can. We start advising people politely from 12.15am and 1.15am that its time to drink-up and go. We close the doors at 12.25am and 1.25am respectively. These are late standard opening times for a pub.

Is it possible that maybe you were enjoying yourself so much that you lost an hour or two……if so, its maybe not that surprising that the staff want to go home to bed at these times!
