My wife and I plus 2 friends went to the Millstream for the first time on Saturday night 16th July 2011. Nice quiet location with ample safe off road parking. We had booked a table for 8:30pm. The Menu was not exstensive but more than adequate. We were directed to our table and left for quite a while before anyone took our order. There was some difficulty in producing the starters ordered as they had run out of several items and re-ordering was required. It was gone 10pm before the main courses had arrived and then only after our waitress had come to take our sweet order and was shocked to hear that we had not yet received our Main Courses. All the food was well presented and of excellent flavour but the Crispy Duck starters were not crispy but rather tough and hard to chew. As for the main course one of our friends had Sausage and Mash, again excellent flavour but the amount of Mash was so miniscule our waitress should have advised us to order a side dish of Mash too. Had we have done that would have made it the most expensive Sausage and Mash ever at over 17 for two sausages and and Mash with a little gravy. When asked by our waitress was everything OK? and I informed her of our disappointment, she made no comment whatsoever, just took the payment. I feel that this venue has great potential but it seemed to be lacking a leader on this ocassion and I could not recommend it to my friends and have the confidence that this might have been a one off. In short, nice place great potential with the right leadership, great flavours, cooking process not as great as I was expecting.

The old Millstream provided the sort of food we like (unusual in pubs), a warm welcome and good service. We popped into the now renamed Triple Crown a few days ago, took one look (it doesn't take long) at the very basic and limited menu and decided it wasn't for us. Shame. Another unusual pub dumbed down.

NOW CALLED THE TRIPLE CROWN. Rename presumably related to new landlords, sporting theme reflected in photos on the walls. Quick lunchtime pint (hungry but driving ); good pint of Henry's, excellent sandwich, not on the menu, but chef very co-operative. Also available: 6X, Horizon.
