The Wellington, Birmingham

I wouldn't say the welly takes itself seriously, it's all 11 types of ace! I've always had a right laugh in here, alright, one barman is a bit moosy, but Nige and Dave are ace blokes, as is the lady (sorry, i don't recall your name) Welly the cat is moody, but he pulls it off with style. Top banana! Best city centre pub by faaaaaaaar!

The Rope Walk, Birmingham

Much better since the refurb, but still a sterile Marstons pub. The ale is drinkable but nothing to write home about. Better than most other places on the square.

The Black Eagle, Hockley

another once great Birmingham pub that has dropped off in quality recently. The beer is still of a decent standard but the food has definatly gone from great to poor over the last three years. It used ot be the best place around for food, but I've increasingly been dissapoibted with my meals here of late. Hopefull Tony will turn it around but i'll be waiting until one of my friends tells me it's improved before I return. Could (and used to) do better!

The Church Inn, Hockley

as everyone else seems to be saying, this used to be a great pub, but since Lee has taken over it's really gone to the dogs. He hasn't the first clue about running a pub, looking after beer or his customers. The biggest dissapointment is the Bathams, it used to be a thing of beauty but it's obviously not being looked after any more. Hopefully if enough people avoid this place and let Bathams know whats going on then they'll cut the supply off and let a pub that looks after their beer have it. I have nothing good to say about the church, two years ago I loved it, now i'd rather go thirsty.
