The Ship Inn, Fordingbridge

Wow - went in here last weekend and was amazed by the change - has been done up brilliantly compared to last time i went in there years ago!

Tv's everywhere, good music, lots of space around the bar or to sit down and chat! Very proffesional indeed!

The Compasses Inn, Damerham

At last someone that smiles behind the bar!!

Popped in the other day to see if had anything different - no refurb yet - although they have sadi they will keep the local side similar - but who knows!

The land lady is so friendly and welcoming and i'm sure when the place is back on its feet it will be 10x better than it was! The place seemed alot more growded too for a sunday!

They have a new extension out the back - a beautiful timber framed conservatory! - Which looks like they are holding partys in as it was all decorated with flowers and balloons!

Even better for the locals is it will be open all day on a Saturday soon!

Sheaf of Arrows, Cranbourne

The locals and staff are very friendly and always have a good night - could do with a refurbishment - and Hatchpaines Construction are doing well at the moment with most pubs - especially the recent Brewers Fayre me and my partner have tried - Heath Hotel in Dibden Purlieu for one!

The George, Fordingbridge

Has recently been refurbished - looks completely different to what it was like before! The best looking pub ive ever seen - or should i say wine bar - great to go out for a small group meal or romantic meal or just to sit down for a few glasses of wine - very proffessional - chef is amazing and food was very reasonable but delicious, outside seating is beautiful and right on the river! lets hope it doesn't flood down here!

The Crown, Fordingbridge

Quite a nice pub for evenings, never had the food there - but heard it suppose to be nice - always find it very grouded and has like a corridor at part of the bar which is silly when ppl are sat there when trying to get a drink - brilliant atmosphere though but could definatly do with a Hatchpaines Construction refurbishment! I agree about the toilets too and there is only one for the ladies which isn't great for the amount of people that are in there on a saturday night!

The Augustus John, Fordingbridge

Very friendly landlord and bar staff, have been there and had a quiet meal - which was delicious - but also been there and had a cray drinking session - bar staff get involved and had a right laugh! The only thing i would say is its a little old fashioned - furnishing wise - but great place!

Brilliant atmosphere - visited a long time ago and recently visited again when passing through as a friend of mine told me it had been refurbished by Hatchpaines Construction, what a great job they have done the place is completly different - alot more open now than before and now the smoking bans in especially! Had live music when i went and list of events that happen often up - good night out was had by all!

We go there qite often now for food they do fish and chip and a steak night t a very resonable price of 6.50! All of the locals are very friendly - occasionally live music and a beer festival which is always a great night! Very tidy and large bar area! And you have to try the lasagne!

The Compasses Inn, Damerham

Used to be my local - i agree with everything ppl above have commented on e.g price bein very expensive and some of the staff very rude and un-friendly, also found that they are very slow at serving you and will finish their chat with someone before coming to serve you! Have been known to wait for a long time before being served! The locals are very friendly to anyone that comes in and are the most welcoming thing about the pub if i'm honest! Fodd although its expensive is delicious - but doesn't need to be so expensive! The landlord is the lest friendliest - i couldn't believe how rude he is to some ppl that came in and could be guests or paying to have a meal - if i was them i wouldve just thought twice about ever going back! I have heard from a friend that i am visiting back there in august that there is a new land lady on her way and fingercrossed they will refurbish it as it is very tatty and a little run down - but would still be great if they kept the villagey pub look!
