I really don't understand the low 6 rating for the Sheaf of Arrows. We had walked over from Damerham from the Compasses pub. Nothing really wrong with the Compasses we have dined there before, 'See my Posts' but it lacks a bit of soul. The Sheaf in contrast has oodles of character, a very warm welcome, good food reasonably priced, two dartboards, loads of interesting friendly locals & no tv. Not that they exclude the younger generation, there is a pool table. To sum up a great village pub with a warm welcoming feeling to it and good beer of course. Try the 6p Handley, that was gorgeous. My rating an 8.5 John.T - 27 Feb 2011 12:46
This is a warm welcoming pub and restuarant. The people are kind and friendly and food is fantastic; delicious yet affordable! Myself and friends had a most enjoyable evening, and have since been in to enjoy lve entertainment. Highly recommended local pub and restuarant. sandra43 - 27 Nov 2010 17:19
The local blues rock band Lost At Sea will be playing at the Sheaf on 6 November 2009, admission free. So the pub does have quality music. chriscroft - 25 Aug 2009 18:54
average country local pub.....nothing special. should be in 'Cranborne' tho, not 'Cranbourne'. alehouses - 25 Feb 2008 15:49
The locals and staff are very friendly and always have a good night - could do with a refurbishment - and Hatchpaines Construction are doing well at the moment with most pubs - especially the recent Brewers Fayre me and my partner have tried - Heath Hotel in Dibden Purlieu for one! ebab831 - 25 Jul 2007 14:57
