| heard this place is closing...H&W just don't want country pubs.. my message to the locals is find a Brewery that will take it on before its turned into a house!! Marstons is good choice..they have the Horton..The Inn on the Chase/Cashmoor and now the Drovers..and they do good Beer! then you have to find someone to run it and run it well...not Welsh Rookies!! | We went on a lunch time and only had a starter but it was very nice, reasonbly priced and well presented. The 'gaffer' referred to 11Oct2005 was obviously on an off day, he was abrupt and not very friendly. The young woman behind the bar was a lot better. We were first in and it was clear that toilets had not been cleaned, the urinals were mucky. there were two fires on the go in the bar and it was reasonably cosy. | Very friendly gaffer and barman. Homely feel in the bar, and the large grassy garden is great for the summer. Selection of Badger ales. Snacks and baggettes available for light lunches.
