| Fortunately we dined here - those that just popped in for a quick pint while we were there didn't appear to have a particularly good welcome. Definitely likes to think of itself as an haute cuisine establishment but the food was nothing special and the menu was somewhat ordinary despite all the hype. The bar staff all seemed to be rushing around like headless chickens rather than serve me a pint on arrival. All in all it was OK but we're not going to rush back. BobOs - 22 Sep 2008 18:55 |
| Had a major refurb, now the tired old country local has been "Badgered" by the Hall and Woodhouse group. Had a lot of money thrown at it and Hatchpaines Construction Co have done a good job, with lots of cosy nooks; although the bar area is far too bloody bright and you need a pair of sunglasses to order a pint. However the ale was excellent, I was on the Fursty Ferret which was well kept. The service excellent and the food was outstanding. Will be back there again definitely. Fuggle - 17 Sep 2007 14:56 |
