The Gallery, Hendon

one of the better places in Hendon, food is good and so it should be at the price...more west end than north london. Decent crowd and bouncers that turned away a few undesirables...so that can't be bad. Good restaurants nearby as well, so handy for a drink afterwards...

The Hendon, Hendon

if you like fights, chavs, and shaven headed nutters, come right in. tries and fails to be upmarket...food is a joke and microwaved, drinks overpriced and served with all the humour of piles. rumours of closure should be met with caution - where else are this lot going to go? keep them in one place

The Harp, West Hendon

near the police station, which is nice. And needed. Not one for the ladies, handbag nicked whilst there, staff not bothered, big unnecessary car park for guests...

31 Dec 2008 13:21

The New Chandos, Colindale

open to locals barred elsewhere, seedy, best viewed from top deck of passing bus...

Finbars, Hendon

avoid - loads of other options within seeing distance

The Bodhran Bar, Hendon

has this place been open 10 years? standard irish theme pub, so you know what you are getting, handy for the station and not bad for a pint after brent cross shopping

The Claddagh Ring, Hendon

agree with door staff - punch first ask questions later. they seem to charge by the look, so local scum go in free, we were charged three piound each and he stuck it straight in his pocket.... and it's no better inside - chavs, assorted travellers, and eastern euro-gangsters lurk with menace among the crowd. Beer ninjas all over the place nicking whatever bottle you leave alone. Without doubt the worst place in Hendon....

The Gate, Arkley

of the way for public transport - but no worse for that.... clean & friendly boozer - busy, but what's wrong with that?

The Three Hammers, Mill Hill

used to be decent, now soulless chain. Decent bogs.

The Bridge, Mill Hill

picture says it all. Bloke outside rolling one up, kids stuck out on the road, dad inside giving it large to an easily impressed collection of hoodies and gangstas. Trains above drown out the atmosphere such as it is - pub is a stagger from the dole office around the corner, where most locals shuttle between. bang next to an M & S, so not a bad place to get cheap goods for the microwave, nudge, nudge...

The Railway Tavern, Mill Hill

needs a refurb, locals stare at you like Deliverance without the banjos. Gone down in recent times, no local competion unless you count the harvester which alwyas seems to be busy

The Rising Sun, Mill Hill

good pub, bit out of the way but worth the effort...Orange Tree further up the lane is good for sunday dinners.....

31 Dec 2008 12:45

The Lansdowne Bar, Burnt Oak

one of the best on the 'strip', but that doesn't say much. bar staff gormless, locals a step up from the other joints....

31 Dec 2008 12:42

The Change of Hart, Edgware

far from the worst place in edgware, bit pokey, suspicious beer 'tarmac' out back that borders the stream where you can find most of the discarded fridges and trolleys from lidl

31 Dec 2008 12:37

The Three Wishes, Edgware

pleasant place for a few pints - better now the smoking ban is in....

31 Dec 2008 12:30

Zanzibar, Edgware

overpriced, and better indian pub joints in the area, clean, not bad for a lunch

31 Dec 2008 12:21

The Edge of Town, Edgware

local dive, seedy, lots of sports, old men and the under aged is the norm. If you like Masons Arms, this is the same...

31 Dec 2008 12:17

The Masons Arms, Edgware

full of local chavs and wannabe gangsters, top place for a weekend fight as evidenced by the regular visits of Her Majesty's finest. Great place if you call yourself a 'soulja'...
