White Lion, Disley

Visited here a few weeks ago after a long walk. Loads of well kept ales to keep you occupied and staff offered a warm welcome. Menu looked good too - I'll be returning to give it a try.

The Farmers Arms, Wallasey

Had a nice pint of Theakston's on a busy Saturday afternoon. Friendly service and attractive, unspoilt bar area. Worth a visit if you're passing.

The Cheshire Cheese, Wallasey

Quiet when I visited - good pint of Wainwright and several other ales on offer too.

The Crown and Kettle, Ancoats

Had a few real ales on when I visited. Decent jukebox. Interesting onate ceiling (apparently the building was originally intended to be law courts). Well worth a visit.

Doctor Duncans, Liverpool

Huge range of Cains beers. Lovely ornate room to the side of the bar. Handy for Lime Street Station. Gets very busy post 5pm.

The Fletcher Moss, Didsbury

Nice pint of Hydes Jeckyll's Gold. Front half of pub is old with many original features, back half is newer. They sell pies from an oven behind the bar now as well - a welcome addition. Friendly and attentive service.

The Lass O'Gowrie, Manchester

Lovely old pub. Good selection of real ales on offer. They claim to do the best pies in Manchester and I have to agree. Sporting events on big screen.

Swan With Two Necks, Stockport

Attractive interior, lots of wood panelling and little rooms off the bar area. Robinson's pub, now I'm not a big fan of Robinson's but in here you get a really good pint of it. Friendly and welcoming bar staff.

The Royal Oak Hotel, Didsbury

Nice pint of Pedigree in here, they normally have a guest on too. Cosy little place. If you're around and about during the day have a pate and cheese lunch - they're huge. Choose your cheese and pate from the wide selection on offer and they'll cut you a slab big enough to keep you in sandwiches for month.

The Olde Vic, Stockport

Everything a pub should be - always 3 or 4 real ales on and always kept in excellent condition. Open fire, friendly dog and gregarious landlord. Good jukebox and lots of bric a brac and books on show. A really special place.

The City Arms, Manchester

Visited this pub for the first time on Friday evening. Great choice of ales on offer and friendly quick service even though the place was packed with office workers. Had a pint of Arundel - top notch.
