Had a pint of the Raisin Beer last night. Other beers on were also from Cains - Triple Hop, Bitter, IPA & FA. It was reasonably busy, without being packed. Still don't see much reason to come here apart from to see the one room.

Visited on Friday night expecting some fine Cains ales....Oh dear. The Bitter was as flat as a fart and the IPA was not much better.
Last time I was in here (6 months ago) it was superb. Maybe I picked a bad day ?

Was here last week to try a pint of the new Cains "Bonfire Toffee". I was expecting a stout or porter, or even a strong dark ale - but what I got appeared to be a pint of Cains Bitter with a very (and I mean "very") slight hint of toffee. And at £3.10 a pint I wasn't impressed.

My visits to Doctor Duncans are becoming less frequent !!

Still reasonable enough for a 'down town' pub but we were a little less impresed with the beer quality. The pint of Liverbirds was okay but the Raisin beer wasn't so good. Also one of the party ordered a a pint of Dragon Heart and was given a bottle of it - they didn't mention to him that it wasn't on draught.

No guest ales available last night but the full range of Cains beers was.
I opted for Cains Pilsner Lager which I hadn't had before. It was fine.
Quite busy but then John Cleese's show at the nearby Empire Theatre did finish very early and so that helped.
