Unexceptional Wetherspoons, with many of the usual beer offerings plus two ales from the nearby Marlow Brewery (with the Rebellion Investors Revenge proving a good choice). Could have done without the oiks smoking in the large open doorway at the front. rpadam - 23 Jul 2009 23:00
An ok pub visited On a Tuesday night for there Grill Club food all ok and Guinness kept well. Pub wasnt too busy and had a varried age group of customers. Good to see a working manager clearing tables and serving (Watford Moon take note) Only criticism is that they encourage you to order the dessert when you place the main meal order and in fact you save money by doing so...trouble is they forget to bring you the dessert and you still end up going to the bar to jog their memory. Aprt from that all in not too bad and would visit again if in the area. largeone - 11 Oct 2008 22:24
As with a lot of the Weatherspoons pubs, the Penny has a great selection of real ales. Most of the staff are quite friendly and the food is everything you'd expect from Weatherspoons. bananasforbeer_com - 5 Nov 2007 16:24
Further to my previous review, I'd like to say that currently there just aren't enough staff - they are losing custom because people are getting fed up with waiting to be served and walking out; the staff there are fine, we just need more of them! egdug - 28 Jul 2007 23:05
After visiting about 8 Spoons during my last holiday (june/july 2007 and many more in the years before) I can only come to one conclusion: This is the worst Wetherspoons I've ever been to! No chracter, lots of noisy youngsters, glass smashing on the doorstep... Pity! Most Spoons are well worth a visit, this one ins't! dirkfromholland - 24 Jul 2007 06:10
