It gets default average for just being a good Shepherd Neame pub! However, its mainly a place I would go to for food more so than for a drink, even though it is a Neame pub. Longshaft81 - 6 Aug 2009 14:24
Characterless compared with nearby Tigers Head probably due to being more of a gastropub than a pub that also serves good pub food. Fantastic pint of Masterbrew though, although, only two beers on tap and no hint of ever serving any guest ales. frankhartley - 10 Jun 2009 21:29
I like this pub, the interior could do with a freshen up as sometimes it really smells in there. My only other gripe is, does the Sky Sports need to be on all night? It can put off women. Chislehurst - 6 Apr 2009 12:33
Other than the (gravel pit of a) beer garden, there's precious little in the way of seating at this pub. It seems to have sacrificed most of its space to its ill-attended 'gastropub' section. I have had mixed luck with the food here but as a pub it's so-so. It's quite dull, to be honest. Unimaginative interior - they've got a sofa to mix things up a little, but that's about it. The ubiquitous Sky Sports hovers Big Brother-like in the centre. Comedy value provided by the guy who hops over the common to try and flog his pirate DVDs to outdoor punters every Friday night. It's harmless enough, nothing big to complain about, but no distinct good points other. Average. box_twenty - 11 Aug 2008 01:19
