Simple awful. Did the pub smell of toilets or the toilets smell of pubs? A sunday lunchtime with hardly any customers? Awful dark brown colour scheme to the place with one huge TV screen, and not much else. Looked like someones tatty front room. . Until they get their act together, do not expect a lot from this dive.
Fortunately, the Rambler's Rest is 1 minute walk away

This could be a great little pub if done up. I recently visited on a Saturday night and it was virtually empty! Strange as The Bickley & Rambler's Rest nearby were both packed. I don't think the interior has seen a lick of paint for over 20 years. The tables are in desperate need of sanding, the seating upholstery is all ripped & toilets are a state. There are probably decent floor boards under the musty carpet.

I remember going to this pub about four years ago and never saw one other female in the place. I am pleased to say that has all changed due to the landlady who has worked extremely hard to make the pub appealing to single women and couples alike. Its a pub a female can walk into on her own. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Sundays are fantastic. Drinks are not over-priced compared to some in the area. Perhaps it could do with a make-over but I would rather feel welcome than worry about the decor. Keep up the good work landlady and bar staff!

Has been very smelly since the smoking ban. Suspect the carpets need a steam clean!

In general it's a bit dishevelled and could be a lot nicer. On the positive side, the beer is not greedily priced and the landlord seems like a decent bloke.

Very good pub with a real cosy feel to it. I recommend it to anyone in the area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. best pub in the area now because its been done up. Could do with a pool table though.
