I remember going to this pub about four years ago and never saw one other female in the place. I am pleased to say that has all changed due to the landlady who has worked extremely hard to make the pub appealing to single women and couples alike. Its a pub a female can walk into on her own. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Sundays are fantastic. Drinks are not over-priced compared to some in the area. Perhaps it could do with a make-over but I would rather feel welcome than worry about the decor. Keep up the good work landlady and bar staff! lucywood - 10 Jul 2008 13:50
Has been very smelly since the smoking ban. Suspect the carpets need a steam clean! In general it's a bit dishevelled and could be a lot nicer. On the positive side, the beer is not greedily priced and the landlord seems like a decent bloke. Beertastingmonkey - 14 Jan 2008 11:45
Very good pub with a real cosy feel to it. I recommend it to anyone in the area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. best pub in the area now because its been done up. Could do with a pool table though. hiimharry - 25 Aug 2007 21:49
Very much a locals pub. Staff have always been pleasant enough, as have the beers & ales. Could have a wider range of real ales though. Handy if you fancy a Thai meal - given the boozer backs right on to a Thai restaurant, and is also close to the Chislehurst Caves. trottis - 18 Jul 2007 00:56
This a great pub it's a.... the later it gets the livelier it becomes place. Staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Variety of ages all there to have a booze with out the trouble of teenage tearaways. It's not always about a place being trendy it's about walking into a place and feeling comfortable and this is def one of those places. It's worth a visit! Especially on a Sunday between 5 & 7pm as they have live music which is good. anonymous - 5 Apr 2007 16:39
