Yes I do think they are crazy - I am the ex Landlady!
Please see our website www.thegrouseandclaret.co.uk for more news on why it was forced to close. We will be posting more details in the very near future.
Many thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments.

Are they crazy? This was the best pub in Victoria! How could they shut this down?!?!

What can we do to change this? I see that the pub is boarded up, but there is no work or anything going on. Is it for sale?

I went there last Friday for a quick beer after lunchtime and was gutted to find this place closed and boarded up.

I mean no-one would shed a tear in the rubbish Talbot next door shut, but this is truly awful. It can't have been unprofitable, as it was always packed. I guess it wasn't profitable 'enough'. An offer they couldn't refuse, etc etc.

Tragic is the only word.

And when I say, 'getting rid of', I don't mean selling them off as pubs, I mean redeveloping the site as more 'luxury flats'.
