Another quirky mews pub, tucked away in a hidden corner of Belgravia and looking hugely inviting as you approach it. Better from the outside than the inside though; something about the decor and fittings didn't really work for me. Has very bright lights and high tables and stools, which made it feel a bit like a wine bar selling Shepherd Neame beers. rob1981 - 22 Mar 2011 00:33
A rather appealing hidden gem buried deep in the streets of Belgravia. It was troublesome to try and judge too many aspects of the H & G as it was very late when we finally itched up, and it was only us in. Happily, although she was clearly uncomfortable with it, the barmaid (licensee?) did allow us to take a quick half - in my case a very palatable one too in good condition. Whilst there was nothing fundamentally striking about the place, I can imagine it is a very convenient and well-subscribed pub at busier periods amongst the cognoscenti who know of it, and rarer still, its exact whereabouts. What I found was promising, but I'd like to get back here at some point and give it another whirl. Hopefully then I'll get more of the measure of the place. TWG - 2 Feb 2011 15:18
I went in here last night to watch the footie , tis a great little battle cruiser, the staff are very friendly and the landlord is a credit to his profession. while its true to say that it's a small pub , it MORE than makes up for it in its great service and quality ales. It's located in a little hideaway of a mews but well worth locating. The only downside ??? , the toilets are tiny and a little pongy , but hey , its not as if your gonna spend all night in there is it ???? Anyway , you really should check out this nice little pub !!!!! , The Irish embassy always drink in here, so what does THAT tell you !!!! cossy52 - 31 Mar 2010 10:15
Fantastic little boozer in Belgravia. The last time I was there I had a great time, with loads o folk from the Irish Embassy around the corner in attendance ! Great Irish landlord who really knows how to run a pub. Makes his punters welcome but without being cheesy like so many of them can be. The only thing I would change is the lighting - if someone turned the lights off and handed out candles this would be the best little pub in London ! MayfairResident - 20 Mar 2010 17:48
Lovely little pub - very tiny but well kept Shepherd Neame ales, great lunchtime grub and a charming Irish landlord. Only gripe is the lighting which is too cold and doesn't suit this otherwise place. oliverhylton - 4 Jan 2010 17:19
