The Albert is a warm and friendly place, where you can meet down to earth people....I'm an American that comes once a year to visit friends that live nearby...The owners Kate & Nick treats me like family from the first time i visited in 2004....It seems like i've known Kate & Nick more than the four years that i've been coming to the Albert... I'm hoping to visit the Albert for many years to come... lennylom - 27 Nov 2008 14:06 |
Traditional little boozer within stumbling distance of the station. Reasonably friendly staff, I sampled the only guest on offer - Jennings World's Biggest Liar which was more than acceptable. A TV was showing the Rugby League highlights of Australia's collapse at the hands of New Zealand which was an added bonus. Worth stopping off at. Sharp - 24 Nov 2008 15:42
A friendly and cosy little local pub near Tamworth station - but by no means a 'station pub' (it isn't that close!). Sells a range of ales including Church Ales 'Vicar's Ruin' which was very pleasant. Also offers accommodation - maybe next time! rainlight - 15 Jun 2008 15:36
A great little pub - discovered by happy chance when we had 45 mins to kill between trains. Cosy bar, about 4 real ales on offer (the one we tried was in excellent condition). Good honest pub grub on menu at reasonable prices - we didn't try the food, but the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked very tempting. We'll be back! triplicker - 14 Dec 2007 14:11
A new landlord has taken over this cosy pub close to the town centre and railway station. Well kept Bank's ales and extensive reasonably priced menu including homemade steak and ale pie (which was absolutely stuffed with chunks of steak)as well as daily specials including beef madras and cumberland sausage. All food is delicious and freshly prepared. Pub offers pool, fruit machines and juke box. Beer garden and car park as well as accomodation. Staff are friendly and attentive. The Albion is one of the few 'real' pubs in the town d970601h - 18 Feb 2006 09:52
