user reviews of the Tweedale Arms Hotel, Tamworth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Went for a Pint with a few friends but the beer was of poor quality, tried several but normally the beer is ok, as I've been several times before. Perhaps it was just a bad day when the pipes needed a clean or had just been cleaned or it was my taste buds playing tricks, but for 3 of us to notice that 2 different lagers were not tasting very nice (mainly Carlsberg Export and Steller Artois) is a bit poor. The landlord claimed everytime that there was not a problem but hay we just left the beer and went elsewhere. I would say that the service and food is great, can't comment on the hotel as I've never had the pleasure of staying overnight.

The parking is limited but fairly secure. the pub its self is very nice and has been done to a high standard 10/10.......unfortunately the accommodation is very poor from our experience...the room size was acceptable but the shower was very mouldy, the toilet seat was very old and heavily marked, no soap or shampoo provided. the TV was an old portable with a very weak snowy picture...I have been told the accommodation (adjoining house) was used for housing people on social support and sadly it does show this.....we stayed in room 12
the breakfast was of a good proportion with pleasant staff
security of the rooms is very poor ie due to the accommodation being an old house...the front door lock has tape over the latch to stop it locking and a sign requesting this..the locks on the bedroom doors are very weak it would only take a good shoulder to force these doors and with the main front door facing onto a main road access would be very easy to the house...for 45 pound a night i do expect better.......

This pub has now been taken over by Punch Taverns - nothing much seems to have changed yet though

Large well kept pub opposite the railway station and a five minute walk to the town centre.
Modern furnishings and seperate resturant offering a wide range of food including steaks and roasts. Friendly service and well kept beers. fruit machines and newspapers. Car park and limited outside seating.
Accomodation available.
