The Burrell Arms, Haywards Heath

went here once and will never darken it's door again, one of the most menacing dives I've ever had the misfortune to enter. Full of people totally off their head and their dealers. If you aren't a smackhead or an alcoholic in need of their 18th pint of the day don't enter this place. For the love of God, close this place down!!

The Office, Brighton

Thai kitchen is closed now, still an OK pub for a pint. Often v busy but I think that's more to do with location than anything.

The Station, Brighton

Lovely wee pub, good pint and a lovely friendly bar maid. Staff make all the difference in little pubs like this and they've got it just right. Really friendly spot, just outside the station.

The Bright Helm, Brighton

A tourist trap on tourist trap street. Horrible dive full of drunks from about 9am. By the evening it's jammed full of stags, hens and homeless. Go here if you want to be a) mugged, b) bottled or c) puked on by a slapper

All Bar One, Brighton

To be honest, this place has less oomph than the rotten lettuce I binned last night but location is good so I still pop in on occassion. Prices are sky high so after a pint I rmbr why I shouldn't bother.

The Bath Arms, Brighton

Wicked little pub, a real find. Bigger than it looks and so cosy. Good for groups or a quiet one on your tod. Staff are friendly and nice busy but friendly atmosphere. One of my favourite pubs in Brighton, WELL worth a visit.

Loop Bar, Mayfair

Worth a visit if you want to stay out late in London - get there early and there's no door charge. Also, has a restaurant, a bar area and a club downstairs so handy for groups. Easy to book an area/get on guest list and staff were friendly when we did.

Food in the restaurant is really good actually, worth a try.

Bad points? It is ridiculously expensive. Honestly eye watering. I know in London you expect to pay a bit more but this is just silly. They serve (and charge you for) doubles unless you SPECIFY and the glasses are so small you could drink it in one... good trick, gets you back to the (ENORMOUS) queue for the bar.

They also CRAM you in, sometimes you can barely move. Saturdays it is a total cattle market, with men leering from the edge of the dancefloor. It can be REALLY uncomfortable.

And the women they put in the loo's, where on earth do you get these people from?!! They are SO rude!! I mean honestly, how dare I use a toilet and not pay for the privelege of being handed a paper towel!!

Thursday and Friday's are best, normal after work crowd. Saturdays are for 'try hards'.

The Hog in the Pound, Bond Street

A really dodgy tourist trap pub which should be avoided where possible. Sit outside and smell the drains, sit inside and smell... well, it's questionable. Food is the Aldi's finest and the staff seem to change daily. Loo's stink, lacks atmosphere but rakeing it in due to location.

The Last Bid, Bond Street

This was one of my favourite spots for a pint in central london, a real find despite the guy with funky teeth behind the bar being a bit of an idiot. Really affordable and good atmosphere, but sadly now closed... it says for refurbishment but I'm guessing a spruce up and a eye watering hoik in prices go hand in hand...

The Red Lion, Handcross

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime expecting this place to be heaving, but we were pretty much alone!! I really liked it, and the food was OK, but the other half reckons it lacks any atmosphere. Worth a visit.

The Long Man of Wilmington, Patcham

The manager of this place needs a course in customer services, he's soooo miserable and borders on downright rude when he fancies. Really expensive and lacks atmosphere. We actually feel intimidated on the rare occassions we visit, it's such a locals pub new faces are stared at! Wouldn't recommend. (The indian across the road on the other hand is well worth a visit!)

Park View, Brighton

Honestly, this pub served up the absolutely worst Sunday Roast we have EVER had in our lives. Utterly disgusting and inedible, I cannot fathom how they had the face to send it out of the kitchen. Let's be honest, meat and two veg is pretty hard to screw up, but to do it in such style is pretty amazing.

The pub itself could do with a spruce up, the staff could do with a kick in the ar$e and the chef needs a slap. Gross. Will never go back.
