A fine looking building but a bit self-consciously contrived (in that particular bistro-esque gastropub style) inside. Perfectly decent pint of Harvey's Sussex in nice condition, with the increasingly ubiquitous Doom Bar also evident. Good mix of punters and a generally relaxed atmosphere though.

Group of 6, for late lunch today, had drinks in the bar. Then went through to restaurant. Food excellent. A couple of fussy eaters, nothing fazed the great staff. Everything we asked for arrived. The two chaps looking after us, were great, very patient as we spent a long time gossiping and catching up, rather than ordering!

A great pub, FANTASTIC food (many special offers). Lovely staff... The main chap looking after us, Sean, was excellent!!

Ths isn't your typical everyday pub, and we couldn't afford to go there every week (sadly). 2 large glasses of wine and a diet coke were 18.95. Which might explain why it was so quiet! But I m sure it's popular for special occasions.

Everyone said what a great meal and lovely service. Thank you Sean and team

Had a special offer voucher and went on an early evening of a Bank Holiday. It was very quiet in both the bar and restaurant. Food as good as any of the Mitchell and Butler gastropub groups we've ever been to, can't comment on the beer but wine very well kept. Service a little slower than we have experienced before but the food was very good so no complaints.

Hmm, they keep Tweeting... cheap Champagne & great food?
If they tweeted ' great local real ale on the bar' they'd be mobbed!!!
A sad pub right now, bit of a shame really.
