Functional little pub from the Taylor Walker stable. Straightforward sort of place with a room upstairs with a dozen or so tables. Ales were London Pride, Bombardier and a special Santa's Spirit (I think it was called). I suddenly noticed the big range of standard lagers on tap: Estrella, Becks, Peroni, Carlsberg, Kronenberg and a few more. Can you have too much selection in a pub?

Anyway, staff were firm, if efficient. TV with the football on (no sound). Wednesday night office workers basically. It's never going to be the best pub ever, but a OK sort of place I suppose.

It struck me that the room upstairs would be appropriate place for a secret assignation. The chances of bumping into anyone you'd know would be pretty low. Hmm - what kind of recommendation is that? 6/10

Serve beer through a sparkler in LONDON? How very dare you!

Hugely busy thanks to location but an unimpressive beer selection. Like a lot of pubs in the West End, it doesn't have to try hard to pull people in so it doesn't bother. We sat upstairs to avoid the pavement crowds and the food looked alright. Fine for a quick one but you wouldn't settle in for the night.

This place has gone downhill noticeably in the last few years. It's in a busy location, which guarantees them a regular 'passing trade'. It seems the management have decided they can get away without making much of an effort - and it shows.

There were more people outside this pub than in during my visit which could have been due to the nice setup of seating merging with the many restaurants or it could be due to the overly loud dance music blasting out of the speakers on a Tuesday night. There are a couple of TVs that were showing Sky Sports news which was muted, not that anyone was watching them.

Bombardier, Greene King IPA and Pride were available during my visit alongside a limited standard draught selection and the barman was nice enough in a disinterested kind of way.

There are a lot of pubs in this area and I dont think that this one stands out from the rest.

Uninspiring beer selection. I never been served with anything other than a well short measured pint in this pub. It's a pain to have to always ask for what you paid for. Landord please train your staff to serve pints.

Busy pub on a pleasant little square with cafes and restaurants, lovely people, pub was OK, can't even remember what the beer was but it was no doubt OK.

Very busy when I visited, with both ground floor and upstairs bars full. Nothing special, but the staff were reasonably efficient and the Bombardier was OK.

Forgettable and rather run-down pub just off Oxford Street. Designed for standing rather than sitting, but was fairly sparsely populated on a Tuesday lunchtime. Four real ales but nothing with a wow factor and my Bombardier was truly awful. Didnt dare sample the food.

Great place, I'm suprised the score's so low. Good atmosphere, staff get you served fast, nice pint of guinness - definitely added to my list of pubs for west end crawls. Oh and if you're wondering where all the west=end eye candy drink, there's quite a few of them in here.

This pub has grown on me. Beer acceptable and reasonable price. Comes into its own in the summer when you can sit or stand outside in the pedestrian area. No traffic and lots of young ladies.

Bar staff are nosey gits. But I guess in a pub that's about the size of the average khasi, you have to expect that. It's OK though. Worth a pint if you can be bothered ... snore

WELL, WHAT CAN I SAY DEAR. A DIRTY, GRIMY, POXY SNIVELLING LITTE PUB. I WANT HIP , HAPPENING , HERE AND NOW DARLING!!
HAVING SAID THAT IT DOES HAVE SOME VIRTUES. ITS COSY BUT DOES HAVE A REPUTATION AS A PICK-UP JOINT. RATING 4/10

Ok-ish pub, handly located away from the madness that is Bond Street. Plenty of outside seating on winter nights; wonder why that is?!! Just as well though cos very smoky inside.

5/10.

Nothing too exciting to write home about - upstairs level handy if the downstairs is full (it's small, so that's quite likely)

The road it's on - James Street - is great though, particularly in the summer when the outdoor dining really takes off.
