please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This pub is a pleasant one mile walk from a campsite I stayed at and I felt right at home straight away on my first visit.

Its every wall and inch of ceiling space is covered in pub related regalia and references to Robin Hood. The staff are friendly and serve a fine array of ale (as well as standard lagers if thats your bag). Plenty of parking, a large beer garden backing onto a rural setting. Pool table is 50p a game.

If I could mark this down I would say that the music on both occasions I came here was utterly dreadful. Obviously, this is down to taste but not many people are into cheap cover versions of Elkie Brooks and Carpenters numbers on seemingly endless loop at a fairly loud volume. The food was adequate but it was very obviously out of the freezer. Perfectly edible, but no attempt was made to dress this fact up.

That said, I am the type of person to not get too carried away with matters away from the beer and the service, for this is what a pub should be assessed on. For that reason, I am giving this pub a high mark.

Great Food and FRIENDLY staff.
A visit here made the day complete.
The children enjoyed themselves on the NEW PLAY EQUIPMENT so my wife and I could enjoy a drink.
We had trouble getting the children off the climbing frame, they were enjoying so much.
We can't wait to go back

We have just had an excellent lunch at the Robin Hood. The food was first class, service good, the pub ambience just as good country pub should be. We will be eating there again.

Finally had dinner in this pub. There was a large choice on the menu and the food was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and the price was very reasonable. Would highly recommend and definitely return. The annual beer fest is definitely worth a trip too.

We visited this pub on Friday evening. As we got there, the place was full of families and kids. Despite our immiediate reservations about the pub, it turned out to be a great place to visit. The beer was top notch, we had a couple of bottles of Rjoca at a very reasonable price and enjoyed great pub food. To top it all the service was excellent. Would definately go back next time I'm in that neck of the woods.

Wish this was my Local. friendly staff, nice beer and reasonable food (the beef was a bit fatty, roaring fire and hops everywhere...

Parked up before realising it wasn't the recommended Queens Head. What a treat - beer fine, food outstanding, service brilliant. One of those lucky finds.

Went in here because the Queens Head was crowded, and was pleasantly surprised. Bar draped in hops makes an interesting atmosphere, and the beer was fine, though only 2 ales on offer.

Good choice of ales. Popped in when passing on a Sunday lunchtime. The place was heaving, but we were found a table & served excellent food within five minutes of ordering. There's not many places where that happens.

Great pub. Packed but great! Hastings should get off his high horse!

I loved the friendly atmosphere and the hustle bustle around the kitchen, lovely fresh fish and chips that many a chip shop could do well to imitate, I will return many times.

There is nothing nasty about the food in the Robin Hood! Sue and her team have never dropped their standards in all the years they have been there, The Robin serves "honest" food of the good homemade variety, it offers real value for money and that is why the car park is always full, if the food is not up to scratch then it simply won't get served, so what if the conservatory leaks a bit and is a cobweb going to kill you? no I thought not.

The Robin Hood is a success story dragged out of the doldrums by a families hard work. Some people just shouldn't go out to eat.

Give this place a go, you won't be disappointed.

'Hastings' pointed out the leaky resturaunt. That happened when I was there too, and I also did notice a couple of cobwebs; must disagree on the food/drink though.

The beer, ok, is Greene King. No points for that really, although when forced to drink IPA, the quality is important and this was pretty good stuff. The food however made it... i've eaten there two or three times in the last couple of months... the food is certainly above average and definitely so in regards to price. I'm interested to know what you had that was 'cheap and nasty' from the menu just so I can avoid it myself.

Certainly prefer this place to the other pub in the village, essentially because it doesn't pretend to be anything its not.

Cheap beer and cheap nasty food in a conservatory that leaks! Apparently this place won an award a few years ago, maybe for the dirtiest bars in Sussex, check out the cobwebs in the restaurant, maybe they are a rustic "feature"? Avoid.

Visited pub at last years Triumph rabbit rally held on the adjacent field last year. Great food and ale, very welcoming. Made our stay a pleasure

Wonderful quaint period pub situated in a sleepy village in east sussex. Extremely high quality food at real good value prices. The quality of beer (both ales and lagers) is also of the highest standard; as reflected by winning Cellar of the year from the Greene King company two years running.
