Lovely pub, but a bored bar person. I quite like Sam Smith's Brewery Bitter, and I love the work they do on interiors, but some of the people they hire need smiling lessons. Very quiet, only 3 or 4 customers including me, and all were hushed, like in church.

Visited as part of a hectic pub crawl. You better like Sam Smiths, but this place still looks like a pub and you cant always say that in Bristol

Ale OK - Food awful! For a drink a lovely old fashioned pub but badly let down by badly microwaved food, burnt chips and frozen veg. Not hard to get right? We witnessed food being returned but did not learn from it!! Our mistake. Will not ear there again, their next door neighbour (The Volunteer) was 100 times better.

What's more than a little concerning is that the pub is currently being refurbished. This place had the most beautiful interior and we can only hope it is not going to be ruined by naive and unsympathetic renovation. I used to love the 'snugs' in here, let's hope they remain.

Hopefully the pub will remain largely as it was although looking at the way other old Bristol pubs have been treated by landlords with poor vision and understanding I have to say it's looking bleak.

"Ale House" with no, well, ale! OK, fizzy Sam Smiths but nowt else. Shame, as it is a lovely interior.

I used to really like this place, but i have recently changed my opinion. Bar staff are so slow and often surly. I asked for my stout to be topped up because it had a huge head and I refuse to pay todays prices for foam, I was told to lump it and that their policy was not to top up beers!! Wont be using it again.

What a horrible night at the Kings Williams pub. We met at the Williams to have our first beer. The bartender took ages to serve us, so I told him that we were next. He kept ignoring us and refuse to serve us because he said we were rude!!! absolutly incredible. We will never again come back to Kings Williams pub.

Can only really echo what others have said. This is a decent pub with a pleasant ambience in the central area, certainly one of the best nearby. They always seems to close at 11:00, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it keeps out some of the riff raff :-) "Beers" are all from Samuel Smith's, so no proper ales, although their organic cider certainly beats the Strongbow that many nearby establishents sell.
A bit on the pricey side though - over 8 for two half's of cider, a coke and a rum and coke.

Yes, as previously noted you might, and I mean just might, expect the King William Ale House as is its full title proudly displayed outside, to have some of them on sell. Ever feel like you're being cheated? I consulted the bar girl and was informed that only keg beers available. She said they used to sell them (real ales) but not any more. A pity as it is an attractive looking pub inside. Need a decent LL with a passion for the amber, and maybe things could change for the place.

great pub, shame about the slow service at times, food is a bit hit and miss but lovely stout, and cider, great prices.

The King William Ale House. No cask ales. Should be renamed under the trades descriptions act if all its going to sell is nitro keg.

Best pub in Bristol, the stout tastes amazing and at 2.15 a pint who's gonna argue? They do seem to be under staffed at the moment which must blow for the girls who are running around like headless chickens in there.

This is the best pub on King Street, just off the Queen Square. It is a Samuel Smiths pub which sells only Sam Smiths brewery drinks, but don't let that put you off as the beer is exceptional. The pub also boasts three pool tables upstairs and a additional upstairs bar that although is not currently open, should open within the year. The bar staff are friendly and the food is great. A new change in management should be pointed out, but the only difference has been a slight downfall in the food quality. The food is still good, but it was brilliant before so alot to live up to. Great atmosphere and a complete variety of characters. No yobs come near the place and therefore great for a night out. A real ale was on sale temporarily recently, but was removed from sale as it didn't sell well despite it being one of the best ales around. Damn shame. Apart from that a cracking pub.

The fat man drink is called Ayingerbrau. The pub is under new management, but the new landlord is cool

This pub is a samuel smith's pub which sells it's own brewed stuff. The Lagers start at about 4.3% for man in a box (or fat guy)go to stella strength for Prinz and goes to a Pilsner which is just over 6%. Also a lovely stout ia avalible and they do a cracking Sunday roast.

The best pub I've been to. Just 10 minutes away from Templemeads train station. Pool and some of the best pub food i've had. You get a pager that beeps when your food's ready!

Not brand names, but the lager and ales available are sublime. Can't remember the name but I do remember saying 'pint of fat guy please' (the lager has a big fat bloke figure in a case on it).

Lovely stuff.
