The King William, Bristol

What's more than a little concerning is that the pub is currently being refurbished. This place had the most beautiful interior and we can only hope it is not going to be ruined by naive and unsympathetic renovation. I used to love the 'snugs' in here, let's hope they remain.

Hopefully the pub will remain largely as it was although looking at the way other old Bristol pubs have been treated by landlords with poor vision and understanding I have to say it's looking bleak.

The Cotham Porter Stores, Cotham

Turns out the pub has been bought by Wickwar Brewery - who specialise in ale of all things! There are so many ale pubs in this area and around st michaels hill already. Cider is what we crave around here! With the Cat & Wheel the only option for real cider in the area you would have thought someone would have capitalised on this gap in the market. Time will tell - hopefully when the Stores reopens they'll be some good cider on!

Pub has now been sold. Hopefully it will be taken over by someone with a real passion for cider and traditional pubs who will turn this place round and reap it's true potential.

The last thing we need is losing another Bristol pub to developers - especially in this area. Any change of use must be challenged. Trendy pubs and wine bars - no more please!
