The Fez Bar, Putney

Blimey the Fez, that takes me back a bit, I didn't realise it was still open. always good for a laugh but to be honest I was normally hammered by the time I went in there anyway.

The Spotted Horse, Putney

I always enjoy a pint in the Spot. A decent crowd get in there and the food is nice. Never seen any rats either but wouldsay the service is excellent and the beer is also.

The Whistle and Flute, Putney

I like this place as it is near work but the cleaning does need to be looked at.

The Hope Inn, Stanwell Moor

Hope in, hopeless you mean. Can't stand karaoke and cheapo bands. Only been there twice and didn't stay long on either visit.

The Swan Inn, Staines

Two Rivers, Staines

Not keen on thsi place at all. It looks more like a cofee shop and the service in my view is really bad, probably the worse I have experienced for a long time. Sorry but this one does not do it for me at all.

The Bells, Staines

Don't get down here much as its the other side of Staines but I do like Sunday dinner down here. Nice little pub as well as a decent set of beers and really good service. I really enjoy coming down to the Bells and shoudl really make more of an effort to do so more in future.

North Star, Staines

Probably our new local. It seems to have got back to the good old days and the atmosphere is nice. The food is exceptional and the beer is good. A couple of lovely lively girls behind the bar make it a bit of fun and we went down and saw a fantastic band a few weeks back. I like this place a lot these days and feel that for me (us) it is probably the best of the lot.

The Old Red Lion, Staines

I can't make my mind up about this place. Sometimes its noce to go into and have afew beers and sometimes it really uncomfortable. Its a proper little pub though and full of the charms of all traditional pubs which when your 6foot 5 tends to hurt a lot but I am used to that. I like the Old Red Lion but it is a little pricey in comparison to others and i am not really sure that you get good value for the extra you pay. The food is nice though but the service is a little lacking in areas if you ask me. Have to end on a nice though for this place as it would be unfair not to so I would say that when chatting to the locals you do get a friendly vibe from them at least.

The Beehive, Staines

Never made to feel comfortable in the Beehive. I think if I was over 50 or a builder then it would all be fine but me and the Mrs popped down there a few times as its not that far but were made to feel uncomfortable. Sad really as the pub itself has that traditional pub feel and look to it. Maybe it was just me though and maybe I shoudl give it a go but there are better out there in my view.

The Hobgoblin, Staines

Good pub this but teh wrong end of the high street for me to stagger home from. Nice atmosphere and good music. The beer and staff are great as well unfortunately I don't want to fight through the gangs of pikeys on my way home of a night so the Hob is a Sunfay afternoon drink for me if I get up to that end of Staines. Like it though, a lot.

Baroosh, Staines

Its alright for a plastic pub, nice staff the beer is always good and its not too noisy. Very clean and tidy as well.

The George, Staines

Cannot stand this place, a proper wetherspoons, no atmosphere, rubbish beer and staff who couldnt care less. Not my cup of tea at all.

Que Pasa, Staines

Closed due to trouble apparently.

The Garibaldi, Staines

Closed now but was always a bit of a crud hole in my view.

The Three Tuns, Staines

I like the Three Tins or should say used to like the ThreeTuns. It was a great place to have a beer but the last couple of years it has gone down hill. Someone recently told me it is closing down as the brewers have gone bust or something which is a shame but to be honest I think it was always going that way anyway. I will never fogrt the days of Cliff and his many, ahem, barmaids... that he had there. Always a bit of scandal and always a bit of fun but those days are well and truly gone. Not too many pubs left in Staines these days that have a locals feel as they are all starting to become plastic pubs but what can you do. The search for a new local is on for me.
