Bosco Lounge Bar, Surbiton

A good array of drinks and spirits, but normally very slow service, the table service can be laughably slow. Very popular with commuters and suits directly off the train, I'll let you make up your own mind as to whether that's a good or bad thing...

Nice smoking patio in the summer and overall it's a a welcome difference to the other pub in the area.

Brave New World, Surbiton

I've occasionally frequented this pub for many years and I haven't seen it getting busier, merely quieter over that time. Admittedly it was cleaner last time I went there, however the new 'Jimmy Saville' manager was rude and unwelcoming.

It's an odd place.

The Victoria, Surbiton

Still one of the most reliable boozers in Surbiton.

Brave New World, Surbiton

Somehow this place keeps going, it's added a pool table and has even less patrons. Still, it's a pub and not unfriendly but is just too big for the amount of customers it gets.

The Shore Inn, East Wittering

I often pop in here and have to say it's a good, honest boozer. Busy in season, but also friendly in the quiet winter months, can't fault it for a quick drink.

Harts Boatyard, Surbiton

For a couple of years (since the refurbs) this has been our staple for Surbiton sundowners. If you need a drink in Surbiton before sunset then head down here and grab a table outside by the river.

Service is often slow, staff seem to change incredibly quickly but it is blessed with the best location of any local boozer.

The New Prince, Surbiton

We popped in here for a pint about 2 months ago on a warm summer afternoon. The hoard of locals sat out the front went quiet and stared at us as we walked in, the service however was OK and the rear garden quite pleasant.

The Grove Tavern, Surbiton

I quite like this pub, it's fairly relaxed, fantastic big garden, quite a nice interior.

Not eaten there, but it's a nice modern place for a drink. Not one for the Ale fans though.

Corkys Wine Bar, Surbiton

Yes, the customers now really do leave a lot to be desired, we nearly had a drink in there but once we saw the interior and clientle, we legged it.

The Lamb Inn, West Wittering

We went to the Lamb for drinks and dinner, the drinks were fine however the food left a lot to be desired. The Pork, apple and cider sausages were, by the landlady's admission "not very apple-y" and upon complaining about the grit found in a caesar salad, the barman informed me that "lettuce grows in the ground" which may be the source of the grit. Another meal in the group had an errant Lamb sausage appear on their pork only order however the pub refused to make a positive identity on that particular item.

A nice pub overall, but spoilt by a possibly unlucky dining experience.

Duke of York, Surbiton

There's been a 'Pub To Let' sign outside for a while and noticed yesterday it's closed down now, sign gone and empty inside.

Hopefully someone will do it justice.

The Victoria, Surbiton

Agreed, the refurb is great, I particularly like the new booths at the rear and the carpet at the back is much more comfortable for falling over on.

The Lamb, Surbiton

Just to say that contrary to what it says at the top this place is OPEN, it's under a management team at the moment and will be undergoing a refurb in the summer.

How do you get it off 'CLOSED' status on the listings?

Cheers

Gav
