I visited this bar yesterday and have to disagree with the more positive reviews. The staff were dreadful - rude, slow and inexperienced. The clientele were extremes - shotgun wedding parties and ghastly middle-class type people with children called Tarquin and Leif. The clothes sense (why do people dress like that at weddings) is well worth a laugh but otherwise this is an expensive, very cliquey venue. I certainly wouldn't recommend it - limted ales and expensive too.

We already had one poor JDW in Eastbourne and now there's another. Understaffed, dodgy, spivvy crowd nd often takes ages to get served. Poor standard and poor pub.

Nice pub but marred by the some of the regular crowd who seem to be mature students, work in computer games shop or are failed musicians. They are ignorant, loud and offensive. A shame because it would be a pretty good place. Get rid of the loud scum and we'll be back.

London and County, Eastbourne
Awful people and hopeless staff. You wait ages for a drink and the bar staff don't have a clue. This was a Slug & Lettuce before and the staff were fantastic - friendly, keen and helpful. Eastbourne continues to progress further down the list, and this pub contributes to that. Does JDW not employ managers?
