McCann's, Hanwell

Good straight forward Irish pub, decent pint of Guiness, good for sport, lively atmosphere but very friendly. Might not be the best for real ale and food, but it's a great place for a drinking night out in Hanwell.

The Viaduct, Hanwell

Excellent pub, probably the best in Hanwell. Nice decor inside, great Fullers ales on tap, very clean, friendly staff, friendly locals and excellent food at reasonable prices from an ever changing menu.

Decent sized beer garden although it could do with some new tables, big smoking area just been built outside should keep the smokers happy and a reasonable car park.

Won Fullers Best new Pub of The Year in 2006 after a major refurb, still feels like it's going from strength to strength.

The Fox, Hanwell

Proper old local pub with great ale and lots of character. Nice location by the canal and a good little beer garden in the summer. Thursday night quiz is quite legendary and well worth the visit.

Last time we ate here it was pretty poor, but i've heard that they're getting their act together on the food front so we might give it another try in the future.

The Duke of York, Hanwell

Why anybody would want to have a drink in here is beyond me. Despite the refurb earlier this year the place is still soulless and serves the usual bland Fosters/Stella/John Smiths combination with no sign of any proper ale or decent lager.

The place is empty Sunday to Thursday, but makes all it's money on a Friday & Saturday night when it effectively turns into a banging Polish night club attracting a very "interesting" mix of people both inside and outside the pub.

Recently applied for an extension until 2:30am on Friday & Saturday, if it's granted it'll be a miracle and there will be local uproar as the existing pub is the focus for much local anti-social behavior and noise pollution.

Hanwell has some great pubs, The Viaduct, The Fox & McCanns to name 3, but the Duke Of York sure isn't one of them.

The Ealing Park Tavern, South Ealing

Been here a few times in the last few months and have to say it's one of my favourite pubs, but definately somewhere to go to for the night rather than a meeting place due to it's poor location. If it was nearer to Ealing Broadway it would be swamped, and would probably not be half as good.

Good selection of real ales, seems to be a free house and a wide range of beers always available. Good wine selection and a nice atmosphere.

The main reason to come here though is the food. Every time i've eaten here it's been fantastic, only complaint would be that there is only ever a single vegetarian option.

Red Lion, Ealing

Best pub in Ealing by a mile, and the best vegetarian Sunday lunch in London... if not the country. The food is cooked to order and wipes the floor with the usual lame and limp Sunday carvery's on offer elsewhere. Always found the bar staff friendly despite previous comments, and the range and quality of Fullers ales is excellent. Moving to Hanwell soon but i'll still be coing back to drink here on a regular basis.

The Town Wharf, Old Isleworth

Warm and inviting on a cold February day, seems very child friendly for a Sunday lunch and nice view over the river. Sam Smiths bitter was good and refreshingly cheap, but dissapointed with the single vegetetarian option of quiche. Had to move on to eat elsewhere, but would of quite happily stayed all afternoon if there had been a decent vegetarian choice on offer.
