Found this pub while looking for the Star (please go there instead). Completely empty except for grumpy barmaid and the beer (Jack frost) was terrible, cloudy and tasted bad - and expensive. Was very disappointed.

Right, Tom the landlord here - just to let readers of bite know that our next beer festival is planned 22nd - 26th June 2005.
The pub kitchen is very nearly complete - just waiting for a slow oven delivery, then it will be SUNDAY ROAST DINNERS at the Oakdale - sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Lovely looking pub, glad they have got rid of vile Ridleys beers. Bit pricey, but the bitters are always in very good condition.

The Pride of Spitalfields, Shoreditch
visited this pub on trip to brick lane - really impressed. Lovely cozy interior, loud glam rock music, and a fantastic pint of Brewers Gold. Several people i have mentioned it to have raved about it also!

The Calthorpe Arms, Holborn
Nice looking pub and friendly staff. Had a lovely pint of special, but was a bit concerned about the temperature of my Youngs Ordinary - it was very cold. My advice stick to the Special - and if in April/May get some chocolate stout down your neck :)
