The Black Horse may be OK for a meal, but if you're just looking for a beer, look elsewhere. It has the highest prices I've ever seen.

The House of Soul, Littlehampton
The late and unlamented House of Soul/Spotted Cow has been transformed into a rather nice fish restaurant. Good move.

Sorry Ordinary, I can't agree about this Spoons being a "proper local". To me it's a typical Wetherspoons joint � atmosphere-free, the cheap beer and food not compensating for a total lack of character. The staff do their best but in my opinion they're on to a loser.

The Cob and Pen, Littlehampton
One of the better pubs in Littlehampton. Service is efficient and friendly and the beer is not bad. I haven't sampled a music night so can't comment.

The Arun View Inn, Littlehampton
I find the food average and the beer OK, while the prices are a bit above the comfortable. Nice location overlooking the River Arun (duh! hence the name). All in all, not a bad place if a little cold atmosphere-wise.
