After reading some of the earlier comments I wondered whether to try this pub for a birthday meal, but as it is local to me I gave it a try, and was pleasantly surprised. Very scrumptous food, with perfectly mannered staff. The menu was a little short on choice but cooked to perfection which made up for it.Quiet and pretty setting.

absolutely excellent restaurant, food was exquisite, staff were first rate, could not have asked for a more perfect evening for the 34 of us.I don't know if you accidentally wrote a review about the wrong pub "yummymummy" but clearly as your name shows you have no sense of taste!

An evening meal for 23 people on 1 March celebrating a very special family 80th birthday. The service we received was first class, having given the manager our menu choices a week beforehand the staff were well prepared for our visit. Our food was served good and hot and was cooked very well and although a large party we were all served together and without any undue waiting. The choice of food offered was good and everyone enjoyed their meals. All the staff were very attentive, very friendly and helpful at all times and we were well looked after which undoubtedly contributed to what was a lovely occasion and much enjoyed by all. Thank you.

In a word, terrible. We were a party of 30 celebrating a christening. We took the time to collate everyone's orders before arrival so that we wouldn't have to wait (there were 12 children). The food took almost 2.5 hours to arrive! They sat us down and served starters, then made us wait ages for the mains. Our children were hungry and upset, this did not seem to bother them. They didn't apologise, or explain the situation at any time. They just left us to it. When we finally did complain, they suggested that it was our fault for being such a large group. In the end, we cancelled the dessert and left. They were not interested, or bothered at the fact that we were very disappointed. We were told that the manager had just quit, and that the owner was away at his daughter's birthday party in Leeds, and that there was no-one overseeing the pub. I have to say, that it did spoil an otherwise lovely family gathering. The staff were unhelpful, inexperienced and useless. Don't go there.
