The White Hart, Duffield

This is now a restaurant and not a pub. Don't bother visiting just for a drink as you will not be welcomed. Once the restaurant serving times have passed, you will find yourself surrounded by people cleaning up, sweeping, etc. At 11:00 on the dot (you can set your watch by it) the bell will be rung, followed a couple of minutes later by the music being turned off.
I cannot comment on the quality or otherwise of the food but certainly don't plan to visit again just for a drink. A pity as it could be really nice - I expect the profits from food dwarf those from just drinkers.

The Cottage Inn, Kenilworth

Visited on a Saturday evening and found the pub fairly empty and dominated by TVs showing X Factor. If I wanted to watch the TV, I'd have stayed at home so this was a major drawback.
Pint of bitter was average and well priced.

The Clarendon Arms, Kenilworth

Visited in Oct 09 on a Friday evening for a meal. The real ale was good and the staff friendly. Despite not booking managed to get a table for a meal and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Only downside (fairly major) was that the table was situated very near to the men's toilets which seemed to have been over-stocked with soap tablets - the result was an overpowering smell which detracted from the enjoyment.
Definitely recommended but only if you insist on not having a table in the small back room near the toilets.

The Rowbarge, Woolhampton

Visited in June 2006 and had one of the worst meals for a long time. Steak seemed to have been microwaved from frozen and then shown the grill for a very short time - horrible!
Onion rings were good. Beer was good. Service was iffy.
