The Star Inn, Eastbourne

Clickey local with a small decent range of real ales. Funny crowd and staff (possibly the same woman mentioned below) who couldn't care less whether you were there or not. Foul bloke at the bar swearing. Not particularly good overall and wouldn't go back.

The Shore, Eastbourne

What on earth is going on at this place. A warm Saturday lunchtime and the place was completely empty. The TV was blaring out a sports programme at full volume and the only people were a scummy family who kids were wrecking the outside. With decent pubs closing down every day, how can one like this survive. Get rid of the staff or close it down. It certainly won't be missed. Either way having kids running riot will bring you the wrong crowd and put many off. No rating - it deserves nothing.

Grand Central, Brighton

Ideal position if you're waiting for train at the station over the road. However this might be one of the most expensive bars in Brighton. Its pretty outrageous and a wonder how they get away with it. Had one drink and left to go to arrange mortgage in case I want to pop in again. Doubt it though.

The Mucky Duck, Brighton

Grubby, dirty local gay bar which seems to have seen better days.
Strange crowd and not particularly friendly.

Big Apple, Eastbourne

Visited here on a recent trip down to Eastbourne. Couldn't work out if its a restaurant with a bar or the other way round. Staff indifferent and loud young crowd. Not sure I'd visit again.

The Beach Pub, Eastbourne

Looks nice from the outside, and right on the front. However we changed our min on entering/ordering. House doubles really expensive and miserable-as-sin staff. I know the weather was bad but the atmosphere here made it feel much worse. Are these staff used to working at the check-out at Kwick save. Hardly welcoming and left after one drink to find somewhere where our custom would be appreciated.
