The Keys, Chalvey

A hang out for Jamaican wanna be gangsters and Somalian homeless.

Loud Best of Apache Indian CD repeatedly playing.

No real ale , but I had a decent pint of Fosters .

A bit intimidating though and Immigrants constantly begging for 40p

The Rising Sun, Fawkham

A little over priced , bordering on greed for the food we had. However, having said that it was served in time, the portions were generous and they did give us free coffees after on the house.
Nice real ale selection.
Pub was very clean as were the toilets, top marks , landlord here clearly knows how to run a pub.

Railway Tavern, Longfield

cleaner than the last time I visited but still off hand staff and awful pint of ale served.
One that will be no doubt closing again soon.

Nowhere decent to go in Longfield, you would think these Landlords would pull out all the stops and make it the best.
Either sheer laziness or incompetence.

Left my cloudy pint of vinegar and promptly left

Ascot Arms, Gravesend

An absolute Sty. Only now frequented by moronic would be toughies and sad lonely old men. (Oh and glaziers who are needed on a near daily basis to repair the smashed windows!)If this was the only pub in the UK I'd move to france and thats saying something.
The only way this hole could be improved would be with a Bulldozer.
I was told that new people who took over it a year ago let all the local riff raff back in and encourage undesirables to frequent the place.
Advertises food on pub sign but only food going was some asda crisps. No real ale on the 3 naked hand pumps- fridges empty and devoid of any decent drinks
Last time i was working up this way this place was warm and friendly and had a decent selection of beers run by a young couple. Some of the same elderly men sat in same place at bar as they were a year ago
How times change

The Rose and Crown, Shorne

Lovely pub. Very well kept ale. Charming character and friendly welcoming staff.

Only negative was the Greene King ales sold here which isn't everyone's favourite nevertheless, well cared for and served at the correct temperature.

The Copperfields, Gravesend

Absolute dive

Horrible rude and aggressive staff, shouting at each other from one end of pub to the other , arguing among each other with every other word an expletive

food on the cheap side but buffet looked very tired and everything dried out and yellowing. Everything had a strong taste of salt.

The Echo, Gravesend

A bit of a chavvy dive

served by quite an abrupt tall but painfully skinny woman with rotten teeth and horrid breath

I only asked how become they dont have real ale and she snorted it was none of my business. I think while i'm down here working ill give this one a miss next time
