The Duke of Devonshire, Balham
A huge improvement. Excellent pint of Youngs last night. Buzzing and full of happy punters. Maybe trying a bit hard with the decor and potentially a little pretentious but:: Very sympathetic refurb and will continue to be extremely busy.

The Packhorse and Talbot, Chiswick
This is the best pub by far on Chiswick High Road. It's always busy and friendly with nice people going in there, the staff are very good and it's not expensive. I've visited about 5 times over the last month and could not fault it. I think Miss Smith must have been having a bad day. There is no way it could be described as a dive because it's very clean and new looking. The food is also very good and reasonably priced.

Stopped into this pub by chance on my way through Guildford yesterday as this was the only pub we could find with a car park. Was very impressed. The pub was busy but the service was very good and the staff knew what they were doing. Had two pizzas which were excellent and we will definately be back.

This pub is getting better all the time, catching up on the St Margarets. Great place to watch football.

The Hook, Line and Sinker, Twickenham
It's not that bad actually. At least you can have a late drink in here without the risk of getting beaten up. Beer is good and service is OK

They play poker here on a Tuesday night and a right raggle taggle bunch of all sorts of gamblers show up. Fun to watch. Otherwise this pub is a bit quiet.

St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets
We came down for lunch, 6 of us from work on the recommendation of The Evening Standard. Loved it, brilliant, staff and service were excellent. They could do with a bit more vegetarian food on the menu though. We ended up staying for the afternoon and got slaughtered on Old Speckled Hen.

The Ship Inn, Wandsworth
I visited this pub with a colleague to see what all the fuss is about. It's excellent. Friendly staff and a pleasent vibe. Old fashioned public bar has lower prices than the rest of the pub. Youngs 2.60. Deuchars IPA 2.70. Genius. Had to be rolled home. 10 out of 10.
