Molly Moggs, Soho

Popped in here after a salsa class across the road. It was fairly quiet so we thought we'd just have a drink and go. Then a bloke dressed as the Queen in full banquet regalia started telling dirty jokes and singing show tunes. And then there was karaoke! My Doris Day went down very well. We shall be going back...

The Ravensbury Arms, Mitcham

Really nutty girl working behind the bar, but very nice. Food was ok - portions a bit small. My daughter said her tortelloni was a bit flabby with too much sauce. I told her to shut up and eat it.

The Volunteer, Baker Street

This is an odd place. I've been twice on a Sunday. Once it was absolutely lovely, and showed signs of becoming a favourite pub. The second time it was hell in a bap. Totally crowded out with tourists. My food came fairly quickly - my friend's food - she'd ordered just after me - did not appear after an hour. I went in and they said "five minutes". What should have been ciabatta with dipping oil was a couple of slices of toasted mother's pride and what looked like Tescos sunflower oil with a bit of chilli in it.

My food was fine.

Bit of a hit and miss place though, it seems.

The Ship, Mortlake

I have been to the Ship many times over the years and until today it was one of my favourite pubs. Today I went there with five members of my family and I can safely say we will never go again. We ordered lunch and it took an hour to come - after we reminded them twice. The attitude was pretty much "well yours is a big order and there are other people who came in before you". Then parts of the order were wrong and they tried telling us we had ordered something we hadn't. My brothers fish was inedible. Our nachos looked hastily chucked together - and the chips were cold. My potato with chilli was uninspiring. My daughter had an eyelash in her very fatty BLT.

From when we asked to see the manager it was a good ten minutes before he came down.

In all, very crappy service. They did not charge us in the end because we were so pissed off.

Other than that, it's a lovely pub.

The Princess Louise, Holborn

A very lovely looking pub but had no wine list (in central London?), so I had a very unremarkable bottle of south african white. As the evening wears on it gets less crowded and more comfortable, however, the toilets STINK. The smell greeted you on the way down the stairs. Someone must have mentioned it to the staff because later on it smelled of piss AND air freshener.
