Three Horseshoes, Willian

Vry nice pub, good food, good selection of ale, reasonably sized car park, friendly welcome in a small picturesque village.

Down side is it's too far away to be my local.

The Inn on the Green, Denham

Pub is no more. Site reserved for housing.

Strangly, no other pubs within reasonable walking distance, so hope the new residents are teetotal.

The Black Swan, Martyr's Green

I remember going to this pub years ago and noting some local saying the "flip flops" had arrived early. I presume this was a dig at non-locals using the pub.

Happily things have changed and the Black Swan is a modern comfortable pub serving great food. The decor is tasteful, the beers are good and the clientele respectable.

A lot of refurbishment has been undertaken and the pub is unrecognisable from the "Slaughtered Lamb" days.

Ivy House, Chalfont St Giles

Food is very good and a varied menu, pub has a separate restaurant or you can eat in the bar, same menu, same price. Pleasant atmosphere and service is usually very good.

Serves real ale with guest beers, and you can taste a sample before ordering.

Large car park and overlooking a beautiful view but ruined by the busy road (A413) that runs in front.

Also does accommodation.

Pub is isolated though and a fair walk to the village.

The Red Lion, Little Missenden

Tragic! I went out to see and the damage is worse than I thought. It's going to be closed for some time.

I uploaded a photo of the interior before the fire, I hope it gets put on as a memory of how quaint this pub was and hope that it will eventually be restored although hundreds of years of history has gone up in smoke.

The Red Lion, Little Missenden

That is terrible news. Hope it reopens soon, it is one of my favourite pubs.

The White Hart, Chalfont St Peter

Good local pub with guest ale changed weekly.

Ignore the review by richvjones on 23/01/06, he is confusing it with another pub with the same name.

The Old Queens Head, Penn

Just been refurbished. Have yet to try it, might head out now! Was quite nice with good food last time I went and was definatelty more a restuarant than a pub. Lets see how it has changed!

The Mayflower, Hazlemere

Wouldn't go out of my way to visit, but if passing then a friendly welcome and not bad good awaits.

The Red Lion, Little Missenden

Very busy pub popular with hikers. Tables at a premium on Sunday afternoons, generally because the food is so good.
