its clean and contemporary inside, but this place lacks any real charm or character. its a standard middle class identi-kit pub. the building itslef is very nice, but the interior is straight out of fullers marketing guidlines. the beers are decent, the food looks good. in the summer the views out the front onto the chiltern hills are wonderfull, untill a car flys past on the A413 two meters in front of you. overall nothing bad, but nothing special.

Just passing by last night and decided to stop for a drink and something to eat.
Staff were fantastic, pub very nice and food and drink were superb could not fault it at all .
Will definetly return even though it is about 15 miles away.

This pub was recently taken over by Fullers and they have done their usual sympathetic refurbishment. It is a nice country pub with fina ales and great catering.

Don't care about the food. It's a pub. Only had the one here and has recently been done up. Nice enough and interesting pictures on the wall but would have liked to have seen what it was like before it was done up

EXCELLENT!! Has a great selection of real ales, which are constantly changing so you get to try a different one each time you come in. Wonderful staff, superb cuisine, and great atmosphere. This pub definately lives up to it's reputation in the area as being one of the best pubs in Britain.

p.s. - also has the cleanest cellar I've ever seen!!
