The White Swan, Richmond

Word of warning to management- still my favourite place in Richmond but it has to be careful. It has been getting busier and busier and it's charm is it's relaxed, friendly personal service. Easter weekend was mayhem, I happened to see one poor waiter being derided by a decision with "I'm the wealthiest man in Richmond" while a crowd of young Harry's and Charlies roared down Champagne with Daddies money on the otherside. Still normally great but couple of times just too busy.

The Old Ship, Richmond

Agree with GP usually the service leaves a lot to be desired in the Old Ship but went in here on a small pub crawl on Easter Bank Holiday and had very pleasant time. Still unsure though

The Duke, Richmond

Yes a good pub, excellent and friendly service good range of drinks but it is very very loud sometimes a bit too much. Saying that the atmosphere is always good in here and drink range good - Even though keep meaning too have never made the Sunday Band nights which are meant to be great.

The William IV, Kensal Green

Good pub, does what it does well without seeming to try too hard and also providing good attentive service. Music is good and their is a good crowd providing relaxing, fun and friendly times.

Paradise By Way Of Kensal Green, Kensal Green

Agree a lot with below - quite shabby and not that much to rave about but found myself having good couple of eves in here with a good atmosphere. Not tried the food yet.

The White Horse, Richmond

For me too clinical, overated and trys a bit too hard - can never feel relaxed in the place with all that wood and high ceiling noise. Sorry

The Bobbin, Clapham

Great find. Invited to Clapham by friend so expected usual Claphamite Wanabees but spent the day and night in this oasis. Great pub, well run, good food and service. Also had good cleintele being a mix of locals and others who just appreciate a good place to relax and have fun. Top marks and will be back.

The Horniman at Hays, Southwark

Have to agree with those below - fantastic location spoiled by a terrible bar. Service was polite though... just v slow and there's no character to the place. Don't think they'll bother to do anything as the location means it will always be busy which is a shame.

The Britannia, Richmond

Have to agree I like this place too recently - bit barren inside but it has real people behind the bar unlike so many other places in Richmond.

The Cricketers, Richmond

I like this place and for it's location it's prices are very good. It is quite small inside but good to relax and the service is always OK if no the most motivated. Not sure why I prefer this to the Princes Head next door - It is great for getting an all dayer on Saturday by the Green - However in saying that why I don't just go to Tesco's and get cans for a quarter of the price like my boyfriend tells me is beyond me.

Henry's Cafe Bar, Richmond

Just joined this board and had thought that if I hate a place then don't write about it and just don't go there but in this case can I make an exception - it's rubbish both in terms of a bar and also it's clientele.

The White Cross, Richmond

Yes it's expensive but look at the location, great place to sit, chill and get drunk. Also the prices keep out a fair few of the river rats. If the Landlord is rude don't speak to him all in all a great little spot.

The White Swan, Richmond

Have to agree with TeeJay that I prefer this White Swan from the Twickenham one. Negative is that sometimes it can be deserted whilst other times it is packed. Case in point went there 2 Tuesdays ago and couldn't get a table as so busy but last week only about 10 people in the place. However it is my favoutite in Richmond with good food, beer, staff and customers.

The White Swan, Twickenham

I might be the only person who prefers this in the winter. It is a great location but seems overpriced and too many pastel colours and knitwear in the summer for me. Saying that it still draws me there for a drink most weeks?

The Fox, Twickenham

Great place for a an unassuming and relaxing drink, much underused considering it's nice location.

The Bear, Twickenham

Understand some of the comments but if you are looking to party in Twickenham on Friday then this is one of the best places to go as atmosphere quite good - question remains what are you doing if you're looking to party in Twickenham on Friday night

The Twickenham Tup, Twickenham

Couple of friends took me here the other week. Nothing wrong with this place but at 27 why do I feel I'm 10 years too old! Does exactly what it says on the tin

The Clubhouse, Twickenham

Heard that it might be getting sold which is a shame as although it is quiet in the week it is great on Sundays as said below. Good relaxing friendly place
