Spirit Merchant, Newtownards

Dreadful pub, full of well dodgy looking clientele, young barman on duty lunchtime on 23/10/13 serves regular customers first. Definitely won't be back.

The Rising Sun, Berkhamsted

If you like dirty, back streeter boozers full of ex-Londoners, this is the place for you.

The Rising Sun, Berkhamsted

Deserves all praise - great pub, excellent location, top beer and Nigel and Mark v friendly. Went there today and made to feel welcome. Well done!

The Jolly Sportsman, Chesham

Looks good since the refurb, but the young male staff let it down - surly, unsmiling and uncommunicative, especially the one who often sits smoking at the table at the front door. I ordered some food and asked for ketchup etc and he pointed round the corner - surely they should be brought to the customer? And can the staff stop using the Wetherspoons favourite questions "who's next?"

The Lord Moon Of The Mall, Whitehall

Need to get staff dedicated to exlusively serving coffees, as there are huge waits for beer while tourists endlessly order cappucinos. It needs to decide whether it's a pub or a Starbucks.

The Jolly Sportsman, Chesham

Reopened (I visited 19 May 12) following a complete refurbishment inside and out which went on for about a month, which indicates how much has been done. Had been a complete dive and when it closed I did not think it would reopen. All beautifully clean and lovely (what a change from before) and serving food. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere and children are welcome. I had Tring Brewery's Side Pocket to a Toad. There are three handpumps (London Pride, Greene King IPA). A great addition to Chesham, especiaaly this side of town.
